Your body system works with other systems in the body via the central nervous system, or the brain. The brain controls muscle movements both voluntary and involuntary. The main organs and body systems do what they do automatically because the brain is wired to every single part of the body. The body systems present in our body work together to perform various functions. The circulatory and respiratory systems work together to provide the body's cell with oxygen.SimilarlyTo help the body move freely, the skeletal system works very closely with the muscular system, which contains all the muscles in the body. Each individual muscle in the body is connected. The stomach works with other systems in the body by breaking down nutrients in food and sending the nutrients to othe body parts that need it..
3_Consequences of Drug AbuseDrug addiction is a brain disease. Although initial
drug use might be voluntary, drugs of abuse have been shown to alter gene expression and brain circuitry, which in turn affect human behavior. Once addiction develops, these brain changes interfere with an individual’s ability to make voluntary decisions, leading to compulsive drug craving, seeking and use.
The impact of addiction can be far reaching. Cardiovascular disease, stroke, cancer, HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, and lung disease can all be affected by drug abuse. Some of these effects occur when drugs are used at high doses or after prolonged use, however, some may occur after just one use.
4_What can we do to prevent the use of drugs?Research shows that the main reason that kids don’t use
alcohol, tobacco, or drugs is because of their parents -- because of their positive influence and because they know it would disappoint them. That’s why it is so important that parents build a strong relationship with their kids and talk to them about substance abuse -- the earlier the better!
The good news is it’s easy to do! Here are a few ways you can build a positive relationship with your kids and start talking to them about drugs.
Establish and maintain good communication with your children.
Why? The better you know your children, the easier it will be to guide them towards positive activities and friendships.
