Short Brain Chemistry Lesson

Increases dopamine in the brain.

Synthetic Cannabinoids bind to the receptors in the users brain, like a key fitting into a lock.

JWH-018 & JWH-073 are better keys than marijuana so it takes less of K2/Spice to get a person high.

The brain is tricked into thinking it is ingesting THC

Use leftover marijuana pieces force a solvent through it (usually butane or 150 - 190 proof alcohol)

Evaporate solvent off, leaving the plant's resins – which are chock-full of psychoactive chemicals, including astronomic levels of THC that can exceed 80%

The Effects of MDPV

Mental: euphoria, increases in alertness & awareness, increased wakefulness and arousal, anxiety, agitation

MDPV reportedly has four times the potency of Ritalin and Concerta.

Sometimes labeled online as legal cocaine or legal amphetamines.

Can last 3-4 hours

Mild stimulation 6-8 hrs.

Tachycardia (after use)

Hypertension

High doses = panic attacks

Psychosis from sleep withdrawal

Possibly addiction


Desomorphine

Street name Krokodil

It is a derivative from morphine

8-10x more potent than

Morphine

Fast acting sedative and analgesic

HistoryIn 2003 Russia cracked down on

heroin.

Codeine is OTC and is easily converted into desomorphine (process similar to meth)

Red phosphorus, gasoline are used



Physical Effects

Lasts 1.5 hours at the most

Infections, gangrene, severe tissue damage due to corrosive ingredients and unclean needles

Reports yes, but they are not confirmed

MDMA = 3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methylamphetamine

Powder/capsule or crystal

High doses can cause a sharp increase in body temperature (hyperthermia), leading to liver, kidney and cardiovascular failure.

Withdrawal: confusion, anxiety,

depression, paranoia, sleep problems, drug craving, muscle tension, tremors, involuntary teeth clenching, muscle cramps, nausea, faintness, chills, sweating, blurred vision, and severe dehydration
