Aim The purpose of this paper is to throw the light on social awareness programmes for drug addicts among adolescents in India .

Drug addiction Addiction is a chronic, often relapsing brain disease that causes compulsive drug seeking and use, despite harmful consequences to the addicted individual and to those around him or her.It is also calledsubstance dependenceordependence syndrome.

Social consciousness, or social awareness, is defined as consciousness shared by individuals within a society. It essentially means to be conscious or aware of the problems within a society or community.
