Artist Statement

Drops of Sun Jewelry is handmade from recycled and eco-friendly papers from aroundthe world like recycled banana bark paper, recycled magazine paper, and vintage

postage stamps. Paper scraps can be works of art, and what better way to frame themasterpiece than in a piece of jewelry? The paper used has been collected from me andmy father’s stamp collection, recycle bins from around the world, and international paperartists.

Artist Bio

Each piece of Drops of Sun Jewelry is handmadeby Anna Van Tuinen. Anna crafts each piece witha meticulous eye for detail and experiments withnew ways to play on color and shape. Annabegan Drops of Sun Jewelry in 2007 and theemerging independent artist has since sold her

jewelry in various art shows, boutiques andonline. Anna is a Wisconsin native but now livesin the French-speaking city of Montreal, Canadawhere she is a speech therapist.

About the Paper

Recycled Banana Bark Paper is made from salvaged bark and fiber of banana trees when they are cut down after harvesting.

Japanese Chiyogami Paper is a traditional type of paper from Japan, thename itself meaning thousand generation paper . This type of paper was first developedin the Edo period (1603-1868). It was originally used for paper dolls, or pasted on tea

tins. This paper is made from the inner bark of the sustainable Kozo plant.

Lokta Paper is made from the inner bark of the regenerative Lokta bush, grown inthe Himalayan Mountains of Nepal at 8,000 feet. Its bark is cooked and sun-dried tocreate this beautiful eco-friendly paper.

- - - Info eco-chic : I use as many eco-friendly materials as possible, including jewelrysupplies, shipping supplies and display materials. Earring hooks are handmadefrom 100% recycled Sterling Silver.

materials: Necklaces come on an adjustable silver chain. Earring hooks arehandmade from 100% recycled Sterling Silver. Paper is covered in a durableglaze for shine and protection. Pieces should not be immersed in water. Do notlet pieces touch each other for extended periods of time, because in heat, theglaze on the pieces may stick together. Avoid leaving jewelry on surfaces that itmay stick to for long periods of time.

custom orders : Some boutiques request that rather than choosingindividual pieces, I create a unique collection of a variety of pieces for themaccording to their interests. Pricing of items will be the same as similar items of the same size and shape.

- - - Policies Ordering Process:. You may fill out the order form at the end of this catalog, or simply email me with your name/address/items you’d like. I’llsend you a detailed invoice with prices soon after.

Minimum Order Requirement: I have no minimum order requirement because I believe that boutiques should be able to test my jewelry intheir boutique before making a large commitment.

Pricing: Catalog prices are in USD. You are free to set your own retail prices based on your clientele. Wholesale prices are subject to changefrom season to season.

Order Turnaround Time: Two to four weeks depending on size of order.

Payment Process: PayPal account, or check. Online credit card payment is available but not preferred.

Shipping and Handling: Products are shipped from Montreal, Canada. Shipping and handling charges is $10 flat rate worldwide. Shipping

takes 1-3 weeks.

Product Display: Each piece comes on a recycled paper “tent” display card (Show above). The front says what type of paper the piece ismade from. The back has a detailed description about the paper type.

Return Policy: If an item is broken or damaged, I will provide a repair or an exchange for it, within 6 months of the wholesale purchase. Wholesale items are non-refundable or exchangeable.
