DRIVING INNOVATIONWe, with our more than 130 years’ experience, are the oldest manufacturer of trailers for special transport and of container chassis. Broshuis BV, founded as a family company in 1885, is still run by the Broshuis family today. Broshuis is synonymous with quality, safety and innovation. We, with our constant growth, have demonstrated that we are a stable company – another reason why we can serve as a strong and reliable partner for you.
Broshuis, with its many years’ experience, is aware that your transport is very special and, consequently, needs a special SL-trailer. Broshuis offers their SL-Trailers in a range of versions including - SL-Semi low loaders, SL-Low loaders and SL-100-Tonners. It is available from two through to ten axles. In addition, it’s possible to choose to add wheel wells, loading ramps or an excavator trough.
SAFETY QUALITY INNOVATION
With more than 1500 axle lines of experience in SL trailers the question always remains: how can we further develop our innovative solutions to offer the very best to our customers? Based on a survey of our users a number of requests were voiced:
1. The need for more stroke 2. Drive at any height without affecting the tracking, so no tyre wear3. Low-maintenance4. Retain the SL benefits
A big challenge for our engineers, but the Broshuis-team has succeeded in achieving all of these things:
1. More stroke:The SL2 continues to have 360 mm of stroke. This is important for low loaders and for semi low loaders. Jacking up big loads, riding onto and off ferries and driving over hills and roundabouts are the main reasons that users look to having a larger stroke. In addition to these significant advantages, for a semi low loader the SL2 creates even more ground clearance than for a pendle axle semi at maximum suspension! The beam of the SL2 is less high than the new pendle axle semi low loader which means that the SL2 has more remaining ground clearance with less stroke and retains its advantage of a lower tare weight! The maximum ground clearance thus comes to 720 mm.

2. Ride height-immune (no tyre wear):Thanks to further development of the Broshuis steering system customised for the SL, it is now possible to control the left and right steering independently. As a result the negative impact of having steering rods at different ride heights is now a thing of the past! The main outcome of which is no tyre wear.

3. Low-maintenance:Thanks to the correct choice of materials, the SL Trailer is low-maintenance. The low maintenance costs are also a big advantage compared to pendle axles. Moreover, all materials are universally available. Thanks to the new supporting arms, we also have the opportunity to fit the spring brake cylinder overhead and to provide a protective space. As a result the SL2 is less vulnerable when riding onto and off ferries, amongst other things.
4. Retaining the SL benefits:Of course, previous SL benefits continue to apply to the SL2, such as the highest effective load-carrying capacity, the greatest stability, lowest tare weight and a large steering angle.
