Read this information: • You must have a driving licence. This shows that you have passed your driving

test and know how to drive a car.

• You must have an insurance certificate. If you have an accident and you damage another person’s car, the insurance company will pay for the repairs.

• You must have road tax. You must pay money to the government to use the

roads. You put a tax disc in the front window of your car. • You must have an MOT certificate for your car if it is 3 years old or older than 3

years. The MOT test checks that your car is safe to drive. If you have a driving licence from another country you can usually use it to drive in the U.K. for 12 months.
