1. Select an Topic (Road Rage, Teen Crashes, Drunk Driving, Cell Phones and Driving)

2. Define the Issue in Terms of Teen Driving3. Complete Research to Explain What the Problem Is. Use statistics or

data to back up your opinion. 4. Answer the following questions.

-How is the Problem Being Addressed?-What Groups are Addressing the Problem?-What are some Programs and Initiatives Working to Solve or Curb this Problem (name at least 2)?

How Should I Show My Understanding? In a written format.  Please use complete sentences.  You may choose to

display the data you collect in a bar graph, pie graph, or chart.  Be sure to cite your information by showing where you obtained your data or statistics

1. What are your ideas for solving or curbing the problem?  What could be done that is not currently being done? This should be your idea, or an extension of a program, but not one that has already been implemented.2. What can you do to personally to bring this issue to light?

How Should I Show My Understanding?Choose one format:-A written form—as a persuasive speech, or a pamphlet.-Write it in the form of a new law. -In an Audio form as an .mp3 file of your persuasive speech.-A PowerPoint presentation, or another presentation program you know how to use. What do I Turn In?-Your Written Responses to Questions 1-4 in Part 1-Your Chosen Format Responding to the Questions in Part 2

How to Do the Discussion Based Assessment

Module 3:-The Module 3 Discussion Based Assessment (DBA) Is No Longer A Requirement. If you want to receive the Drug & Alcohol Awareness Course Completion Certificate (required to get your permit) all You Need To Do For the Assessment is Submit the Last 4 Numbers of Your Social Security Number. If you do not want/need the certificate, simply submit “N/A” for that assignment.

Module 8:

1. Write a Paragraph Response for Each of the Following Questions.-In your opinion , what do you think is the leading cause of accidents for teenage drivers?-What is the most useful thing you have learned in the course.

2. Submit these responses in the Student Comments box for the Module 8 DBA assignment along with your level of understanding on a 1-4 scale (4 the most and 1 the least) of how well you understand everything you have learned in the course.HOME
