ONE PLATFORM,MANY PERSPECTIVES.The 14th edition of the Singapore Maritime Week returns in April 2019 and looks set to bring over 40,000 industry professionals together over 36 industry and community events held around the island.

The ongoing US-China trade war appears to be prolonged. What is the expected impact on global trade and the maritime sector? With the deadline for compliance of the 2020 Sulphur Cap nearing, how are shipowners evaluating options when it comes to finding cost-effective solutions for the long-term?

On the technology front, digitalisation and connectivity continue to drive smart ports and smart shipping and these emerging needs helm opportunities. The right mix of talent however, remains a key issue for many employers in the sector. In the face of such challenges, how can the sector prepare ahead?

Gathering international participants, including ministerial-level personnel and key port administrators, Singapore Maritime Week will set the tone for the year with a focus on connectivity, innovation and talent. Anchoring at SMW 2019 are Sea Asia and the International Maritime Awards where there will be high-level discussions and networking opportunities amongst key industry executives. Curated events that address fresh perspectives on e-navigation, start-ups, finance and sustainability will also be featured at SMW 2019.

To celebrate Singapore’s Bicentennial, a series of outreach events, including the SMW Exhibition will incorporate stories of Singapore’s evolution from trading post to international maritime centre.

Visit www.smw.sg for the latest updates today.
