OUR STORY It started out with Club Maté, the rebel drink in our lemonade family. We met him at night, during a buzzy Berliner dancing session. Don’t ask us for much details though. We remember the good vibes -with loads of Club Mate- and that all of a sudden the sun was out. Intrigued by this magical Mate buzz, we decided that the Mate vibes had to go on outside of Berlin. When we discovered the magic and the story behind the Club Maté buzzit didn’t take us very long to figure out: Belgium needs this!

After establishing our exclusive Mate rights, and letting our German rebel successfully run wild in its new Belgian playfield, we quickly decided we wanted to expand our good vibes lemonades range. Why stop at one when you can build a party with many? So we went on a mission we like to call “Good Drinks Hunting”. Cucumis, Wostok and Fritz Cola were added to our range. All following one philosophy: unique recipes, pure ingredients and a mind blowing taste.

HOW DO WE SELECT? When it comes to our lemonades we have a pretty strict door policy. That’s because our selection is made carefully and with love. Our brands all have a unique story (recipe?) –you won’t find any lemonade quite alike– all with somewhat different recipes and a passion for pure ingredients and taste.

CLUB-MATEA fizzy non-alcoholic beverage with an iconic flavour. This Berliner soft drink hit is made from the extract of the powerful Yerba Mate plant. It’s naturally high in caffeine (20mg/100ml) and is extremely effective against mind and body fatigue. It invigorates and

gives you a boost, but without the low you get from other energy drinks. Some say its powerful health properties have turned this drink into something

magical. That’s us included. It’s low in sugar, has only 20 kcal/100 ml, and is completely vegan.

FRITZ-KOLAvielviel koffein

It can be done better, two friends told each other. and after scraping to- gether a few thousand euros of start-up capital, in 2002 they founded fritz-kola in their student digs in hamburg/germany. their mission: to create a new kola better than everything offered by the big soft drinks companies. and it was no sooner said than done. the fritz-kola project has been led by the same approach to this day. Mirco and Lorenz met each other at a young age, when they were both boy scouts. They decided to work for themselves during an InterRail tour in 1999 and jotted down their ideas in a notebook containing possible business models that ranged from opening their own bar to managing a squad of cleaners. They were always going to focus on something real instead of a virtual product. It also had to promise a lifestyle that was fun and allowed the pair to spend a lot of time in pleasant cafés. Sitting in their kitchen over a frozen pizza and cola one day, they had the idea of developing a cola drink that was better than the leading brand on the market. A cola with lots of caffeine, a little less sweetness and a twist of lemon.

To cover the need for some working capital to start the project, saving accounts were emptied out and fritz-kola was established with funds of around €7,000. After extensive research into a new cola recipe, the pair tried to obtain the necessary ingredients from pharmacies around Hamburg. There were a few minor setbacks, but with a little help, they finally developed a new recipe for their drink. The logo and name of fritz-kola came into being as a result of very prag- matic considerations. There wasn’t enough cash to design a logo and make sure that it met legal requirements, so the two friends used their own fac- es as a logo instead. No question about who owns the rights to those. There were several suggestions on the table regarding the name of the cola. A survey was carried out in front of a shopping centre. The name had to be a positive, catchy and natural. The nice North German name ‘fritz’ won the race.

WOSTOKRetro lemonades

with an extraordinary flavourWostok lemonades are different, but have one thing in common:

in them eccentric ingredient sare combined, that puzzle one first but make perfect sense later without any use of colour additives or preservatives.

Three was fun, six is a party. Wostok launched a new range of certified organic drinks, with high fruit juice content and sweetened

with agave syrup. You recognize them by the male head on the label.

Pear/Rosemary Wostok tried to think of something

they could pair with pear. Get it? Pair with pear. Anyway back to the drink. It came to them: the delicious sharpness

of rosemary could com- pliment the sweetness of thepear perfectly.

Plum/Cardemom For some this beautiful blend will transport them right back to their

childhood memories, for others it’s just a delicious sweet soda. Either way we

know you’ll enjoy it!

Apricot/Almond The gentle apricot, packed full of ripe

sweet- ness. At Wostok, they’ve blended apricot with almonds that brings out the best of both. The result is a wonderfully

refreshing juiciness with exquisitely exotic marzipan notes. Sweet!

Date/Pomegranate Date juice, pomegranate, white tea,

fennel and aniseed blend to give our So-viet-inspired drink a whiff of the Orient.

Intensely fruity and spicy like the bazaars which inspired it, this drink is one of a

kind – try it for yourself.

Ginger/Tarragon In 1887 the Georgian pharmacist

Mitrophane Laghidze came up with the unusual idea of infusing carbonated

water with tarragon extract. Many years later Wostok introduced a new version of

the historic green drink to the West.

Tannenwald Named after the Russian Vostok space program, the fizzy drink merges Taiga

root, pine needle oil and a hint of cardamom, creating a unique flavour:

spicy, piney and refreshing.

Our story ? Whilst lazing around on the beach on holiday, someone gave us a young green coconut with a straw poking out. We fell in love and decided to bring that drink back to our bar in the Michelberger hotel, Berlin. So started a long journey until we found exactly what we were looking for: the most wonderful people farming the very best coconuts and nally we had found something so fresh and delicious that it felt exactly like that very first drink on that beach. In fact it felt so good we decided to call it the Fountain of Youth. What? The Fountain Of Youth is 100% natural coconut water, with absolutely nothing added, and of the highest quality and freshness possible to be found. We work with a collective of small farmers from a region in Thailand famous for the natural sweetness and delicate flavour of its coconuts and recognized as producing the very best coconut water. Indeed, this is the place the King of Thailand gets his coconut water from. How? Directly after being harvested, the young coconuts are brought into the cooperative from the surrounding palm groves by the farmers who gathered them. Within hours of picking, each coconut is inspected and the husk is cut away and the top of the coconut is opened by hand, one at a time. Their precious water is then collected to be taste-tested, ltered and immediately placed into the cans and sealed. From here they are lightly heat-pasteurized with the whole process from the collection of the coconut water to the sealed can ready to be boxed up, lasting only a few hours so the water arrives here as fresh as possible. To the drink we’ve added all the values that the Michelberger Hotel is known for: originality, creativity and charm. And as with our hotel, every step of this whole story, from palm to can in hand, has been done by ourselves, independently.

When the sun sets, a fruity cocktail is made in no time and a tasty Radler by adding white beer. Also, refreshing water ice creams are easily magicked by using Roze Bunker. The syrup has many values and we love experimenting. So, we are curious about which lovely recipes you can make out of it? This system is designed because Roze Bunker likes to have concentrated flavor explosions packed in a bottle. Just like a butcher, fruit butchers prefer not to throw anything away, the fruit remains are repurposed into new products. The matter of taste is brewed with logical fruit. ‘Logical’ means for us as much as possible ‘from local farmers’ and cultivated in a good way. Especially, we keep thinking about how production could be better in the future.
