    NEW DEVELOPMENT: CHAINS FOR THE BEVERAGE CAN INDUSTRY

    or the convey-ing of thin walled tubular sections, such as beverage cans around the

    production process, chain specialist iwis offers a range of pin oven and tube transport chains. Which offers outstanding cost benefits.

    Developed specifi-cally for conveying drinks cans, iwis pin oven chains are ex-tremely wear-resistant and feature precision roller chains fitted with transport pins and re-placeable protective pin heads (Fig. 1). They allow thin-walled hollow bodies to be transported safely and reliably at high speeds at ambient or elevated temperatures with ex-posure to various media throughout the produc-tion process. Pin oven chains are used in the beverages industry and

    wherever cans or other thin-walled hollow bod-ies need to be conveyed, printed, painted or dried.

    The standard chain size is M128ASL (ANSI 60, 12A-1). Other versions, for example with a corro-sion-resistant coating or maintenance-free chains (ML and ML-2) are also available on request. In the standard configura-

    tion every seventh pin is hollow to accept the transport pins. The chains can be tailored to include other pin spac-ings depending on the nature of the conveyed goods.

    The length of the transport pins can also be adapted and ranges from 184 mm to 214 mm in length from the chains longitudinal axis to the head. (Fig. 2: Ex-

    ample of a POChain-I, dimension L).

    Flexible and easy to maintain The transport pins that hold the product are fit-ted in hollow chain pins at defined intervals and secured with self-lock-ing nuts (POChain-P) or an additional lug and split pins (POChain-S). On models POChain-P and POChain-S, trans-port rods can be indi-vidually replaced in-situ - for example if they are

    worn or damaged - by simply releasing the nut or removing the split pin. The chain does not need to be separated or removed from the machine, which saves maintenance time and ensures that the chain outlasts its attachment parts. Versions PO-Chain-P and POChain-S of the split pin oven chains also feature pre-defined fracture points in the transport pins that prevent damage in the event of a collision.

    Compelling price/per-formance ratioThe latest addition to iwis range of pin oven chains, which will be launched in June 2015, is labelled POChain-I and features a cost-optimized design and an excellent price/performance ratio. All versions of the PO-Chain have spring-loaded protective heads on the transport pins to protect the conveyed hollow objects (Fig. 3). These heads are made from a high-temperature resis-

    The distance from the chains longitudinal axis and the protective head can be set between 184 mm and 214 mm (example: POChain-I). (This image is only for illustration and not available separately.)

Moreover, when combining series SS with Miniaction 300, designed by Mini Motor to operate both electrical asynchronous motors and brushlessAC (BLAC) with power up to 0,75 kW, the high-est flexible application is

    granted. Both motor and reducer are stainless steel to give utmost corrosion-proof and hygiene. Pro-duced mainly for the most difficult applications, the geared motors SS are built in stainless steel Aisi 304 for the food & bever-age industry, and in stain-less steel Aisi 316 for the chemicalpharmaceutical sector; they are absolutely resistant to acid substances and alkaline solutions, and can undergo the most in-

    tensive and frequent wash-ing at high pressure.Thanks to IP69k, absence of fans and their special shape with entirely pol-ished surfaces, with neither edges nor channelling, these geared motors fa-cilitate washing operations and guarantee the highest hygiene.

    leanliness is ev-erything in food-processing facili-ties, and nowhere

    more so than in the dairy industry. A single instance of contamination during production can ne-cessitate the destruction of multiple batches of milk-based foodstuffs - or, if undetected, result in illness, disease or death among con-sumers of infected products. Its no surprise that for dairy-plant operators, maintaining

    the strictest possible hygiene standards is an absolute must. Given the simultane-ous need to maximize plant utilization, time-consuming cleaning methods are highly undesirable. To avoid lengthy unproductive intervals be-tween batches, food-pro-cessing facilities commonly utilize clean-in-place (CIP) and high-pressure washdown systems. Production equip-ment for washdown areas must therefore withstand both aggressive cleaning

    chemicals and high-pressure water jets as a matter of course. This requirement extends to the sensors used throughout these areas.

    The Contrinex Washdown range of food-grade induc-tive sensors addresses these needs perfectly. Devices from both the Series 600 Classics and Series 700 Full Inox families are certifi ed

    Food-grade washdown inductive sensors from Swiss manufacturer Contrinex are completely compatible with the strict hygiene standards of the dairy industry, helping maximize plant uti-lization during round-the-clock production of milk-based foodstuffs. Rated to IP68/IP69K, Contrinex stainless-steel washdown sensors withstand both aggressive cleaning chemicals and high-pressure water jets, offering highly robust solutions for the harshest operating en-vironments. Food-grade sensors are available with IO-Link, a standardized serial connection protocol, providing digital communication in washdown areas at no additional cost.

    to operate continuously and reliably in harsh conditions. Rated to IP68/IP69K, they are pressure-resistant up to 80 bar, corrosion-resistant and ideal for use in food and beverage industries. Sensing the presence and detecting the position of equipment or materials at each stage requires sensors that are both accurate and responsive. Contrinex Washdown induc-tive sensors are up to the task in all respects. With a choice of one-piece M12-, M18- or M30-diameter AISI 316L /V4A stainless steel bodies and sensing faces (Full Inox family) or M12-diameter AISI 316L/V4A stainless-steel body and PPS (poly-phenylene sulfide) FDA-ap-proved sensing face (Classics family), these fully embed-dable inductive sensors offer a highly robust solution for the harshest operating envi-ronment. Industry-standard PNP or NPN outputs with an integral M12 con-nector and IP69K-rated cable set ensure compatibility with existing factory sys-tems.

    Flow control dur-ing milk-product processingMost milk products,

    whether made from pasteur-ized or raw milk, undergo a number of common manufacturing operations during the early stages of production. Central to these are two aspects of process manufacture that require re-liable, accurate flow-control systems: transportation and CIP. In each case, food-grade washdown inductive sensors ensure that the cor-rect operating sequence is followed.Process engineers use dedi-cated stainless-steel pipe-work to transport liquid ingredients from one opera-tion to the next. Typically, fluid flow is managed using control valves fitted with electrical, hydraulic or pneu-matic actuators. Depending on process requirements, two-way or multi-port valves, often rotary-shaft types, deliver raw milk from holding tanks to each pro-cess station in sequence,

    maintaining specified flow rates and volumetric limits.

    Classics Washdown sen-sors for position sensingSensing the position of a ro-tary-valve actuator is a routine task for Contrinex Classics Washdown inductive sensors. In this application, the PPS sensing faces are not required to withstand extremes of temperature or pressure, and the 2mm sensing distance of these M12-diameter devices is ideally suited to the applica-tion. These sensors interface directly with a range of in-dustrial process controllers

    and provide cost-effective confirmation of control-valve status around the clock. Once processing of each batch is completed and all process vessels are drained, closed-loop CIP cleaning is initiated. In many instances, plant managers rely on flow-transfer panels to ensure sep-aration of CIP and process flows; a flow-transfer panel utilizes a multi-port manifold that provides a physical break between flow streams in accordance with good manu-facturing practices (GMPs). Connection between ports

    is effected manually by means of U-shaped jumper pipes with positional feed-back from inductive sensors mounted on the panel.

    Full Inox Washdown sen-sors for presence sensingManual connection carries with it a greater risk of direct contact between assembled parts. Contrinex Full Inox Washdown sensors provide optimum resistance to me-chanical shocks, while offer-ing the option of extended sensing distances. Multiple M30-diameter devices, positioned at predetermined locations on each panel, sense the presence of a locat-ing feature on each jumper pipe, confirming that the correct ports are intercon-nected before CIP cleaning is initiated. These units, with corrosion-resistant one-piece stainless-steel housings and a 20mm sensing distance, pro-tect against impact damage and also withstand accidental contact with aggressive CIP cleaning solutions.

    Full Inox Washdown sen-sors for positional controlThe need for accurate posi-tion sensing doesnt end there. Downstream process-ing in soft-cheese produc-tion is equally dependent on

    highly reliable washdown inductive sensors for effec-tive control of day-to-day operations.Curd-making is the funda-mental process in cheese production. Typically, soft-cheese curd is made in large stainless-steel vats, where milk is mixed with a curdling agent and heated gently, resulting in the separation of curd from the whey. Auto-mated knives cut the curd particles to the correct size, following which the vat is tipped to discharge firstly the whey, followed by the curd.Carefully controlled tipping is essential to prevent damage to the curd. The vat rotates slowly about a horizon-tally oriented support shaft. Washdown inductive sensors from the Full Inox family, mounted immediately adja-cent to one side of the vat, detect the position of a cam on the shaft, confirming the degree of angular rotation at pre-set intervals. These M18-diameter one-piece stainless-steel devices, with a 10mm sensing distance, match the requirements perfectly.

    volume soft-cheese produc-tion also relies heavily on position sensing. Sealed tubs of cheese are conveyed from fi lling stations in single lanes; pneumatic cylinders, mount-ed beside each conveyor, di-vert multiple tubs into pack-ing areas in preparation for layering. In these situations, it is essential to control the po-sition of the ram accurately; failure to synchronize cylin-der extension with conveyor movement results in damage to products and, potentially, to equipment. Two M12-diameter washdown sensors from the Contrinex Full Inox family, embedded in the wall of each cylinder, sense the presence of the ram as it reaches the limits of its travel in each direction. These highly robust devices withstand pressures of up to 80 bar (1160 psi) and operate reliably and accurately while exposed to the working pres-sures inside the cylinder.

    Sensors with IO-Link interfacePlant-wide communication is another common require-ment for manufacturers. In November 2014, Contrinex announced the availability of IO-Link for all sensors incorporating its patented ASIC technology. IO-Link, a

    standardized point-to-point serial connection protocol for sensors and actuators, is enabled on all PNP normally open devices at no additional cost, offering the advantages of digital communication in washdown areas without the need for special cabling. In dairy-food production, pro-cesses run continuously, with remote diagnostics eliminat-ing almost every need for manual intervention. Inter-rogating an IO-Link-enabled device returns its manufac-turer ID and product ID, al-lowing systems integrators to determine remotely that the right sensor is in the correct location. Contrinex IO-Link washdown sensors addition-ally feature an on-demand self-test function that con-fi rms error-free operation at all times. Systems designers also have the capability to modify the output signal. Delaying the switching pulse accommodates any travel time between a sensor and its corresponding actuation point, while stretching the pulse ensures that slave de-vices with lengthy response times trigger reliably, even at high throughput rates. Fi-nally, each sensor provides an output-status check derived from its factory calibration data. If the output signal

    from a sensor falls outside a range that corresponds to a sensing distance between 80% and 100% of its nomi-nal value, an alarm fl ag is triggered, highlighting the need for investigation. For process engineers with de-manding deadlines, peace-of-mind is a valuable benefi t.

    Contrinex sensors for food industryContrinex Classics and Full Inox Washdown sensors pro-vide a robust, cost-effective and hygienic solution for manufacturers of foods, bev-erages and pharmaceuticals, whether on a local or multi-national basis. Contrinex provides technical and com-mercial support via an exten-sive international distribution network, ensuring that every customer has access to ex-pert product knowledge and directly relevant applications experience. Stainless-steel construction and the no-cost option of the industry-standard IO-Link protocol ensures that best-in-class performance is coupled with ultimate reliability in even the most demanding circum-stances.

    Modern technology in food production protects against foreign bodies in food and helps sort out defective products

    here is no leg-islation in Italy governing the

    specific search for foreign bodies

    in food. There are, how-ever, numerous standards that are virtually equiva-lent to laws owing to their widespread use in the food industry. The Inter-national Food Standard (IFS) is just one of them.

    Finding the culprits us-ing a metal detectorThis is why a metal detec-tor is now used in most businesses at the end of the process chain, just after packaging. It gener-ates an electric field in its coil section. Any prod-uct passing through the detector leaves a specific pattern. Deviations in-dicate contamination and trigger the products rejection. For this sys-

    tem to work, the device must first learn each new product.This technology soon reaches its limitations if the products to be tested have what is referred to as a high product ef-fect. This is the case,

    for example, in heavily marinated pieces of meat or products wrapped in aluminum foil, which have a high intrinsic con-ductivity.

    The problem is that this reduces the metal detec-tors detection accuracy, meaning that small impu-rities cannot be detected reliably.

    X-ray technology is su-perior in many areasX-ray technology is im-mune to such disadvan-tages. It can detect even the smallest of metal particles, as well as stones. The principle: the detector absorbs the radiation and produces a greyscale im-age. Any foreign bodies in the food appear as black spots on the digital image due to their higher density. Modern X-ray detectors such as Bizerbas product inspection system XRE are able to evaluate an im-age within a matter of mil-liseconds. Here, the con-

    veyor belt can run through the device at a speed of 80 meters per minute, which corresponds to an inspection rate of around 150 packages per minute. Another advantage is that unlike many other de-vices, the distance between packages can be as little as ten millimeters. This makes an extremely high throughput possible.The device also can be adjusted to individual re-quirements. For example, manufacturers can specifi-cally exclude deliberately used metal parts like alu-minum clips on sausage

    ends from the inspection. The X-ray system can also check jars and tins with a wall thickness of up to three millimeters for for-eign bodies. The metal of the tin hardly interferes with the X-ray beam. Food packaging of this type cannot be checked using a metal detector.

    Eliminate labeling er-rors efficientlyX-ray detectors are also able to analyze whether the contents of the packaging is complete. To do so, the machine is programmed with the average grey value of the object to be examined. Image processing then evaluates the results and at the same time checks the product for foreign bodies.The device finally forwards the inspection log to statistical software, which facilitates extensive analyses and precise doc-umentation. In addition, the device can be com-bined with other equip-ment, such as a check-weigher. If the product is changed, the testing parameters on the X-ray unit also change accord-ingly.

    DE NORA, OZONE SYSTEMSFOR THE SANITIZATION

    e Nora pro-vides a com-prehensive

    portfolio of ozone-based

    solutions, already adopted by many compa-nies in the beverage and wine sectors. Considering its most popular applica-tions, such as those in the mineral water and drinks industry, ozone lives today a kind of new lease of life in the wine industry, where it is used also to sanitize barriques and casks, and to reduce waste in cellars.

    The satisfaction of the companies using ozone in their sanitization processes on a daily basis confirms the results of the studies of prestigious research centres such as Istituto San Michele allAdige, Disalfa of University of Torino, University of Verona, which suggest that ozone is a valid alternative to traditional sanitization pro-cesses performed by wine

    companies. Among these, I would like to mention the work of Prof. Torriani. He analyzed the data col-lected from 16 companies that use ozone in the sani-tization of barriques and casks, thus showing that ozone is more efficacious than other methods com-monly used and, further-more with no residues, lower energy consumption and no need to use aller-gens, said Cristian Carbo-ni, researcher at De Nora.

    Ozone is efficacious in different applications in beverage industry, such as: to improve organoleptic

    characteristics, like taste and odour of the water used to produce the bev-erages,

    to remove Iron and Man-ganese,

    during CIP processes, especially during final rinsing, to avoid surface contamination due to rinsing with non-sterile water (even if edible) and to prevent the wide-spread, from one point to another, of possible contamination that might have survived the dis-infection process,

    waste water treatment (COD, BOD reduction, sanitization),

As a consequence, it is also possible to remove deeply bacteria, molds, yeasts that can alterate the product and ensure a healthy prod-uct to the consumer.Furthermore, thanks to the utilization of an ozone system, the consump-

    tion of water, which must necessarily be drinking water, is significantly contained in the produc-tion process, with a conse-quent reduction of costs and waterfootprint for the Company. The efficiency of the wastewater treatment increases since process waters can be recycled with a consumption reduc-tion from 50% to 70%

    compared to traditional methods. Technologi-cally advanced, De Nora NEXT ozone systems are equipped with ozone sen-sors to ensure the safety of the operators and the cor-rect dosage of the volume of gas. The PLC control allows to manage the sys-tem in a simple way thanks to its intuitive interface.

    The unit doesnt have any mezzanine floor and or inter-mediary platform, to avoid any dirtiness accumulation (pres-ence of any mezzanine floor or intermediary platform are mak-ing more difficult the cleaning operations) - the absolutely highest hygienic standards;

    Freezer design is made accord-ing to max. thermal load and max. surface occupied on the belt by the different products foreseen;

    Low maintenance cost and low spare parts cost due to utilisa-tion of high quality commercial components;

    Low pressure fans to higher air speed. In order to obtain a quick freezing process EASY Freeze SPYRO is designed for high speed circulation (4 -10 m/sec) of cold air in contact with the product, on the whole length of the spiral conveyor;

    Very low weight loss, which is two times less then with vertical air flow.

    Hitting the incoming product with the coldest air; the prod-uct is therefore immediately crusted and snow formation diminished;

    PIGO freezers are built in modu-lar sizes and all components are

    made entirely of stainless steel, capable to provide perfectly frozen product even for delicate products like cooked rice, rasp-berries, etc.PIGO also designs, fabricates and assembles sophisticated freeze dryers, EASY Freeze DRYER - LYOPHILIZER, product line which includes a broad range of standard and custom units.The freeze drying - dehydration technology allows to save delicate aromas while drying the frozen product under vacuum, produc-ing premium quality product. Premium sensorial properties for finished product, absolutely superimposable to those of the fresh product.Machine execution is entirely in stainless steel (Chamber, doors, hinges, shelf modules, etc). In the EASY Freeze Drying concept Shelf modules and vapour con-denser are contained inside cham-ber, giving as final result much shorter freeze drying time then any other freeze drying technol-ogy. Viewing ports are provided in the doors, allowing observation of both the vapour condenser and product trays during the dry-ing cycle. Each unit is equipped with complete refrigeration plant of corresponding size, includ-ing also refrigeration condensing unit is purpose-built with capac-ity control to allow economi-cal use of refrigerant. Includes condenser unit. Besides EASY

    Freeze, EASY Freeze SPYRO, and EASY Freeze DRYER- LY-OPHILIZER, one of the compa-nys main machines is automatic Pitting machine PG103 having up to five times higher capacity than other pitting machines on the market. Experience of all PIGOs clients confirms work with 0,00% of remained stones when ad-equate quality and preparation of the fruit (clean, calibrated product with adequate ripeness) is pro-vided.

    PIGO systems are concepted to create a High Added Value Fruit production plant, which contains dozens of small innova-tions and a few large improve-ments for a more reliable system, all together also improving natural fruit characteristics. In the field of different drying technologies, PIGO is also providing CON-TINUOUS INFUSION TECH-NOLOGY and KNOW-HOW to its clients, giving possibility to improove also natural furit prop-erties, as well as extended shelf life. When Comoli died, Fer-rari had to be the manager director of the company in the very moment of Ital-ian great economic growth: he did it very successfully, indeed,by opening the first branch office in Biella in 1962. Then, Ferraris sons Giampaolo and Giuseppe, both engineers, entered the business and this led to a great market expansion in the 70s and the 80s. In re-cent years, with the opening of new branches, mostly by purchasing existing business units, Comoli Ferrari became a Stock Company, so the firm saw a great develop-

    ment and consolidated its role in the Italian market.By always paying great atten-tion to market needs, Co-moli Ferrari has succeeded in having an important leading role in the Italian market. Today, its main target is to consolidate its market posi-tion consequently the Com-pany implemented a busi-ness plan in order to acquire and merge existing small and medium-sized companies. This strategy turn out to be very vantageous to became a competitive multinational in Italy, hoping to be a leader company in this field in the near future. The purchasing

    of GDT Elettroforniture, a well known firm with 26 branch offices operating on Milan territory, brought about 250 employees to work for the success of Comoli Ferrari. In 2015 the company has further expanded through the ac-quisition of Mauri Elettro-forniture group with 26 sales offices in two regions and about 300 employees.With a total surface area of more than 180,000 square meters, divided into over 112 branch offices throughout Emilia Romagna, Marche, Liguria, Lombardy, Pied-mont, Sardinia, Tuscany and Valle dAosta, Comoli Ferrari offers the largest and most impressive range of electri-cal material , supported by a considerable number of high quality services. Comoli Ferrari & ECO2Innovation challenges re-quire taking into consider-ation different variables that are increasingly connected. Research, innovation, en-ergy, automation, efficiency, measurement and control of energy are more and more frequently indicators of competitiveness of a busi-ness sector, a marketplace, a company, a technical solu-tion. The data monitoring and management define each aspect of production and more and increasingly determine the success of an idea, a project or a product in the marketplace. ECO2 Energy Service Company, part of the Group Comoli, Ferrari & C. S.p.A. national leader in the distribution of technological solutions, has

    been operating for several years in this market, with a view to meet all requests and seize opportunities arising in this context where dif-ferent competences need to find a profitable connec-tion. ECO2 is in fact the only company that offers e.s.co.s traditional services in addition to specific tax consultancy that allows companies to have tax ex-emptions on part of their investments, with obvious benefits. Since payback periods on investments are significantly reduced, op-erations related to energy efficiency are economically more attractive to custom-ers. As well as tax exemp-tion that can be considered as the company specificity or better still the exclusive, ECO2 also offers services of traditional consultancy for the purpose of reducing energy consumption, obtain-ing funding, incentives and TEE Certificates of Energy Efficiency. The mission of ECO2, which offers energy efficiency solutions resulting in consumption savings, is to reduce energy consumptions and at the same time make production and services

    efficient by harmonizing all these aspects with the op-portunities and incentives of fiscal nature: this is the most responsible way of generating more revenues. Client companies of ECO2 can exploit the opportuni-ties offered by legislation that stimulates research and innovation and also techno-logical innovation with the performance that nowadays systems permit in terms of measurement, control and energy and productive ef-ficiency. Automation has probably never seen so many synergies converging on a single purpose: make auto-mated systems more and more energy-efficient, focal point of innovation. In this context ECO2 has a unique position in the e.s.co. sector. Energy, efficiency, control and measurement of energy, innovation and tax exemp-tion represent an essential mix of values and compe-tences that nowadays allow companies to be competitive in a marketplace in terms of quality, innovation and re-search, that are current and vital elements in the automa-tion sector. Now more than ever.

    n Italy and in all other European countries alike, in the past 10 years, steel cable sup-

    ports have changed from typical niche item like cabling support broadly used in agri-food environments, into multi-functional sup-port for cables, data, safety, and for modular cable systems. Canalfil cable ducts have been designed and built in such a way as to grant sound support to sus-pended cables as set by laying and mounting guiding lines. By using thinner steels, the struc-ture of the cable ducts has become lighter and lighter, thus getting such weight-load ratio to grant excellent perfor-mance also in case of heavy duty.

    The performances of Canalfil cable ducts de-pends on load capacity, which is directly propor-tional to the rigidity of

    their structure. Canalfil grants high-quality stan-dards, since the most important elements combining to make the structure of the cable duct are: thickness of steel bars, their position-ing, the quality of the seal at every intersec-tion of longitudinal and lateral bars, which deter-mine the rigidity of the duct.

    The high-quality seal of lateral cables guarantees high resistance. Canalfil proposes a complete range of cable supports, which not only consists of straight paths for housing and possible retaining, but it can also

    CANALFIL pone laccento sulligieneIn tutti i materiali metallici, il pi delle volte, non viene data molta rilevanza alla superficie, che solo in alcuni casi assume un aspetto importante, come ad esempio, quando bisogna risolvere problemi di pulizia ed di igiene correlati ad un buon aspetto estetico. Tuttavia, le valenze che una finitura superfi-ciale pu avere, specie se legata ad acciai inossida-bili, sono diverse, anche perch estremamente diversificate sono le applicazioni che questi materiali hanno nei pi svariati tipi di industrie, in questo caso quella specifica degli impianti del settore agro-alimentare.In questi tipi di impianti esiste la necessit di esaltare le propriet caratteristiche degli acciai inossidabili, tipicamente la resistenza alla corrosione, le sue doti di igienicit, la levigatezza delle superfici, ecc., per cui spesso si ricorre a trattamenti superficiali non di natura meccanica, ma di natura chimica.Lelettrolucidatura una tecnica chimica di finitura superficiale con la quale il metallo viene rimosso elettroliticamente, ione per ione, dalla superficie di un oggetto. Lobiettivo primario e di minimizzare la microrugosita, riducendo quindi drasticamente rischi di sporco o residui di prodotto aderenti e migliorando la pulibilit delle superfici.

    The new range of electro-polished stainless steel cable carriers grants smooth and easily cleanable surfaces, as it is requested in the food industry

    CANALFIL focuses on hygiene

    Little attention is often paid to surfaces in any metal material, provided that we need to solve cleaning and hygiene problems related to good aesthetics. Yet, the importance that surface finish may have, especially if in stainless steel, is as different as the variety of applications that these materials may have in various industrial environments, and in this case, in the agri-food plants sector.For these kinds of plants, you need to enhance the peculiar features of stainless steel, such as corrosion

    resistance, hygiene, surface smoothness, etc, for which superficial treatments, non mechanic but chemical, are often carried out.Electro-polishing is a surface finish chemical technique through which metal is removed electrolytically, ion by ion, from the surface of an object. The main goal is minimizing the micro roughness by dramatically reducing dirt or product residues that stick to the surface and therefore improving cleanness of the surfaces.Electro-polishing grants smooth, easily cleanable and aesthetically nice surfaces, as it is requested in the food industry, combining with unrivalled hygiene and non-contaminants. This process reduces oxidation and contamination of the components of the stainless steel used in the dairy sector, and equipment used in food automatic processes.The new CANALFIL range features the following main characteristics: surface micro deflashing for a resulting compact

    structure and reduced specific surface; clean surface with excellent passivity film for

    excellent corrosion resistance; elimination of any deposits and superficial

    contamination; reduction of cleaning times thanks to excellent

    non-adherence capacity; reflective and aesthetically nice surface, over

    time.

    Lelettrolucidatura assicura superfici levigate, facilmente pulibili ed esteticamente piacevoli, come richieste dallindustria alimentare, abbinate a qualit igieniche e non contaminanti impareggiabili. Questo processo riduce lossidazione e la contaminazione dei componenti in acciaio inox utilizzati nellindustria casearia ed equi-paggiamenti per il processo automatico degli alimenti. Nel complesso per elettrolucidatura si realizza una superficie perfettamente pulita che offre la massima resistenza alle colonie batteriche ed alle particelle di prodotto.Possiamo infine riassumere i principali punti di forza della nuova gamma CANALFIL: sbavatura in campo micro della struttura superfi-

    ciale e ottenimento di una struttura compatta e una ridotta superficie specifica;

    ottenimento di una superficie pulita con un eccel-lente film di passivit per una massima resistenza alla corrosione;

    eliminazione di tutti i depositi e le contaminazioni superficiali;

    riduzione dei tempi di pulizia delle superfici per merito degli ottimi attributi di non aderenza;

    ottenimento di una superficie riflettiva e gradevole da un punto di vista estetico, nel tempo.
