Awl/ Punxó

An awl is a tool used to create moulds or start holes in materials that aren’t really hard, like leather.

They are made with steel and they have a standard form.

Different awls:

Bradawl; is a tool with a blade and a handle made from wood or plastic. It’s used to make an indentation in wood or other materials.

Scratch Awl; It is used to scribe a line to be followed by a hand saw or chisel when making woodworking joints and other operations.

A Hand Brace  is a hand tool used to drill holes, usually in wood. 

It has a grip with form of “u”. It’s stronger that the other braces, so it can be used to drill deeper.

Now a days, it has been replaced by the drill invented to replace the handle for the motors.
