Rontech Petroleum Technology Incorporated Company was sited in the Shizhuang Industrial Park, known as the
New Harbor City which is located on the Bank of Yangtz River,South Jiangsu Provice, a place of beautiful scenery
and sound economic atmosphere.The company was established in July, 2007 with the register capital of 203
million RMB. It covers a total area of 88,500 square meters and the construction area accounts for 68,000 square
meters. The investment of the first project is 533 million RMB with the fixed asset 468 million RMB. The total

Upsetting type: I.U, E.U, I.E.U .Internal Upset Transit area·150~180mm long. Transition area long & Smooth,
the best in the world, to greatly extend the lifespan of drill pipe.
Tool joint made separately by Rontech ourselves with the most advanced German made Ipson
heat-treatment oven.
Sufficient and advanced in-plant upset and heat treatment process, physical characteristics properly
optimized.
Easy for threading and surface treatment, more accurate on dimensional control.
MTI 320BX & 400BX welder stable and reliable plus mature and advanced heat treatment to realize high
strength. 400BX Model could weld drill pipe OD over 5” up to 6 5/8” OD.
Length guaranteed and tailored as per customer request.
Equipped with Make & Break Machine, Rontech can perform make & break testing as per customer
requirement.
Advanced UT,MP,EMI NDT inspection equipment ensure QC to be in line with NS-1 requirement and fulfill
DS-1 inspection criteria.
Good low temperature toughness.
Complete in-plant lab instruments for physical and chemical tests to ensure excellent comprehensive
mechanical properties.
Larger inside diameter, and longer tong space of tool joint compared with API standard ones.

Grade:E75, X95, G105 and S135 and SS grade(Sour Service).

Features
Integral heavy weight drill pipe are made of AISI 4142H - 4145H alloy structural steel. Production complies
with the provisions under the Standard SY/T 5146-1997. Connector screws comply with the provisions of the
Standard API SPEC 7-1. Heavyweight drill pipe is a kind of drilling tool of medium weight which is similar to
the drilling rod. Its wall thickness is greater than that of the drill rod but smaller than that of the drill collar.
The prolonged tool joint is linked to the pipe with thick walls. Generally, it is placed between the drill rod and
the drill collar during the formation of the drilling string to prevent the unexpected change in the section of
the drill string and reduce fatigue of the drill rod. It can be used for directional well drilling, to work quickly
when the torque is rather low in order to cut wear and damage of drilling string. As its steel performance is
lower than that of the drill collar and the contact area on the well wall is small, differential pressure jamming
is rare.

Drill collar data
Slick Drill Collar
A drill collar is made of structure steel alloy forged or rolled from AISI 4145H. Processing and thermal
treatment of deep-holes.
The drill collar is processed and made as per Standard API SPEC 7-1. Thermal treatment is conducted over
the whole length of the products to ensure that its mechanic performance can meet the provisions under
the Standard API SPEC 7-1. Its Brinell hardness ranges between 285 and 341. And impact energy of its
Charpy V-shaped notch can be 40 ft-lb at a temperature below the surface of the pipe.
Traceability: During the entire process of the making of a drill collar, complete data from performance
tests for the processing of each part including roughcast, thermal treatment and connecting thread will
be kept for reference. A separate number will be affixed to each single part.
Required testing procedures:
All the drill collars will be tested according to the API Standard. Testing of surface dimensions and
ultrasonic wave and magnetic particle testing over the whole length of a product will be included.
Cold forming of thread bases: Cold rolling must be done for the bolt root and elevator recess of a drill
collar. Thus, the bearing capacity of the upper radius will be increased via reducing crack diffusion to
increase fatigue strength of a drill collar and extend the service life.
Phosphating or brass plating: Phosphating or brass plating will be conducted for all screw threads to
increase their corrosion resistance and avoid thread jamming of drilling tools.
Dimensions for slip, elevator groove and elevator through-holes of the drill collar (API RP 7G)
Our company may, as per users' requirements, process slips and elevator grooves on drill collars. Hoisting
joints and safety grips are not required for the grooves to ensure safety during operations. The
dimensions and shapes of the slips and elevator grooves all comply with the provisions under the Code
API RP 7G.
Screw thread protector: Our company may, as per users' requirements, provide steel or plastic-steel ring
thread protectors (thread protector) for our products.
Rontech uses only the best material of 4145H from the best Chinese supplier Xingcheng Special Steel.

Spiral drill collar
Spiral drill collar are a kind of petroleum drilling tool series of our company. This kind of drill collar is
capable of preventing differential pressure detention of tools during drilling. Spiral grooves will enable
the mud to flow freely around the drill collar to use balance pressure to prevent the formation of
obstruction so as to effectively prevent differential pressure jamming. The contact area against the wall
of the well can be cut so as to effectively reduce the possibility of forming differential pressure
obstruction.

The extensive use of spiral drill collar is based on its characteristics. This special drill collar is able to
reduce the contact area between the well wall and the pipe so as to avoid "rock-drilling jamming"of the
drill string.
The weight of spiral drill collar is 4-6% less than that of the round drill collar.

Double shoulder tool joint drill pipe developed by Rontech can improve its torional yield strength by 20%-50% more
comparing to API tool joints.Besides,with guaranteed torsional strength,it can reduce the OD and increase ID of tool
joint,so that it is especially adaptable to horizontal well ,deep well ,super-deep well,slim well and sulfur content
environment.
Furthmore,Rontech design 5 1/2” DS tool joint and TN12S tool joint ,specially designed for 5 7/8” tube meanwhile
can be welded onto 5 1/2” tuble,which is interchangeable with XT57 tool joint.
Sour Service connection has completed the diagram design and now in the process of being auditing and qualified.
