General Information

LANGUAGE

All Dräger technical education courses conducted in NorthAmerica are done so in American English, as are the trainingmaterials.

SCHEDULE

Please observe the following requirements and restrictions:— Classes typically begin promptly at 8:30 a.m. (classrooms open at 8 a.m.) and end at 4:30 p.m. each class day. No students are allowed in the classroom prior to 8 a.m.— Due to the logistics of travel to the nearest airport (PHL), it is recommended that no departure flights be booked earlier than 7 p.m. on the last class day.

DRESS CODE

Dress code is business casual. No shorts or open toe shoesare permitted.

PREREQUISITES AND CONTENT

Courses are designed with the understanding that studentshave been exposed to the general function of the product(s)being discussed.

Dräger does not perform component repairs to printedcircuit board assemblies in the field and thus does notrecommend the student to do so. Component repairs aredone only at Dräger’s manufacturing plant by specificallytrained technicians, using appropriate and sophisticatedtesting procedures and equipment. All courses have beendesigned with this philosophy in mind.

TEACHING STAFF

All Dräger training personnel are full-time employees ofDraeger, Inc. They are not paid spokespeople for anythird-party organization. By attending this training, it isunderstood that the academic focus will be on the Drägerequipment that is currently (or soon to be) in possession ofor contractually managed by the student’s employer.

TUITION

Your tuition payment covers the cost of all course materials,instruction, lunch and refreshments. Prices are subjectto change without notice. All travel, expenses and hotel

accommodations, including meals outside of Dräger, arethe sole responsibility of each registered student. Tuitionpayment MUST be provided before or at the time ofregistration.

REGISTRATION AND CONFIRMATION

Class space is limited and students are enrolled ona first-come, first-served basis. A letter of confirmationwill be sent to the registrant via U.S. Mail, fax or email toconfirm registration. COURSE MATERIALS

All technical service manuals and service-related materialsare in electronic format only. Each student will receive aone year license (from the date training was completed)to Basic ServiceConnect, which provides access to thetechnical documentation for which the student is trained.A signed license agreement is required to access BasicServiceConnect and is available for purchase after thefirst year. For minimum computer requirements and a briefdescription of the ServiceConnect software and additionalforms required to receive this software, please contactDräger Customer Service at 800-437-2437, menu option 2,followed by option 1.

TESTING

Each course concludes with a timed written or practicalexam. Students must attain a grade of 70% or better tosatisfactorily complete each course. Certificates andContinuing Education Units (CEU’s) are only issuedfollowing satisfactory completion of the course. A gradetranscript will be issued upon request for a nominal fee.

Students who attain a grade less than 70% can retest for a$300 administrative fee, which can be taken the same day(time permitting) or within a six-month period. Attendanceand successful completion of a technical education coursedoes not guarantee that the student may purchase parts forrepair or replacement from Dräger.

Nor does it imply that the student has a complete workingknowledge of Dräger equipment. It is the healthcareinstitution’s responsibility to determine the technical aptitudeof the technician.

Attendance and successful completion of Monitoring& Healthcare IT training courses does not prepare thestudent for installation or configuration of complex Drägermedical systems. The courses are designed to provide basicinformation for first-call troubleshooting and basic repairs.These systems should be installed by an appropriatelytrained Dräger representative(s), under the guidelines ofapproved procedures established by Dräger.

TRAINING RECORDS

Specifics about Dräger training events are registered in apermanent training database, including course, location andparticipants. A record of student attendance is availableupon written request only from the student who attended thecourse. Training records are not released to any third partyor employer per Dräger’s training privacy policy. Pleasecontact Dräger Customer Service at 800-437-2437, menuoption 2, followed by option 1 for more information regardingtranscripts.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Substitute attendees are not permitted. Training purchasedby a healthcare institution or included in a strategicalliance agreement may only be used by individuals directlyemployed by that healthcare institution.

Cancellations received, in writing, 15 business days prior tothe course will not be billed for the course. A fee of 50%of the total tuition will be charged for cancellations madeless than 15 business days of the scheduled course date.Please note that if you do not cancel in writing and do notattend, you are still responsible for payment. Dräger reservesthe right to cancel or change course dates due to lowenrollment or other unforeseen circumstances. If Drägercancels a course, you will be given a minimum of15 business days’ notice and the full tuition will be refundedor applied toward any future course. Cancelled studentswill be placed on a priority list for the next available course.Dräger assumes no liability for non-refundable travelexpenses in the event of a course cancellation.

TRAVEL

All travel expenses and reservations including airline, rentalcar, and hotel accommodations are the responsibility of thestudent. Lunches on course days are provided and includedas part of the tuition fee.

To allow for adequate travel time to the airport, departingflights should not be scheduled less than three (3) hoursfollowing the conclusion of the course. All courses endno earlier than 4:30 p.m. on the final day.

Students are responsible for arranging their owntransportation to and from the airport and the Drägerfacilities. Information concerning rental cars should beobtained from their travel service provider.

Because our corporate facilities are access badgecontrolled, students should report to the main lobby upontheir arrival on the first day of the course to obtain a visitorbadge.

A list of the basic networking concepts discussed and applied will be:— Networking topologies (wireless), their necessary communication protocols, and terminology.— LAN and WAN technologies, and how Dräger’s Infinity Monitoring and Healthcare products integrate with each.— VLAN planning and application using managed switches and wireless devices.— Basic routing concepts using Cisco® devices for configuration and practical application within an Infinity network.— The student will also be challenged with a number of hands-on exercises that are centered around troubleshooting, error management and proper network capacity usage techniques.

To fully grasp the concepts of the Infinity Monitoring and Healthcare IT product line it is highly recommended that the student attend this course regardless of ITskillset. The methods used to fully configure and integrate a Dräger device onto an Infinity network go beyond basic computer networking and configuration skills.This Advanced Infinity Networking course curriculum brings these concepts into the forefront of the lectures and hands-on exercises, and thus allowing the student to become comfortable utilizing these universal concepts in a Dräger specific way.
