Drew Central Schools submitted its Fiscal Distress Plan to the Arkansas Department of Education in April 2012. In less than one (1) year, the State Board of Education acknowledged significant changes in the school’s finances and voted on May 14, 2013 to remove the district from fiscal distress .

The Arkansas Division of Legislative Audit performed the district’s annual audit in September and October of last year for the fiscal year ending in June 30, 2012. Drew Central Schools received no findings and met Segregation of Duties for recording and disbursement of district funds. Less than two (2) percent of the schools in the State of Arkansas are able to accomplish this endeavor.
