Covering the body includes 3 things:

1. Awrah/Satar – MUST cover body parts

2. Libaas – clothes/garments/dress

3. Hijab – Outer covering

Allah (SWT) says in the Qur’an:

O children of Adam! We have bestowed garment upon you to cover yourself and as an adornment, and the garment of righteousness, that is better. Such are among the ayat of Allah, that they may remember.

(Surah Al A’raf 7: Verse 26)

Libaas – clothes/garments/dress

Cover Awra/Satar Beautify

Purpose of a HouseTo provide shelter and Privacy

Place that does not provide shelter or privacy

Shanty, Jhuggi, hutment

Purpose of Food is to Provide Nutrition

Clothing Requirements

1. Must cover satar2. Loose not tight3. Thick not see through4. Girl Boy clothing must not be alike5. Must not imitate other religions

6. Must not be show offy

1st Basic Requirement

Interpretation of Hadith

A woman is supposed to be concealed. When she emerges outside (without covering herself properly), Shaytan makes her adorned in front of men.” {Sunan Tirmidhi}

The very first requirement of “clothing” is not met!

Interpretation of HadithThe Prophet (PBUH) said:

“There are 2 types of the people of Hell whom I have not seen: People with whips like the tails of cattle, with which they beat the people, and women who are clothed YET NAKED. They will not enter paradise or even smell it’s fragrance ….. {Sahih Muslim}

4th Requirement

Girl Boy clothing must not be alike

Interpretation of Hadith

The Prophet (PBUH) cursed those men who assume the manners of women and those women who assume the manners of men. {Muslim} 

5th Requirement

Must not imitate other religions

Interpretation of Hadith

“Whosoever imitates a nation is amongst them.”{Sunan Abu Dawud}
