Abnormal loads travelling along the
A515 and Stubby Lane
There have been a number of instances of abnormal loads travelling along Stubby Lane to Marchington Industrial Estate.
We believe that such traffic movements are inappropriate and we are trying to get them stopped – so far, unfortunately, without success
Remember that you cannow keep up to date withParish Council matters onour website

Many communities benefit from having aneasy to access defibrillator available.
We are looking in to the possibility ofsourcing a machine and locating it in aprominent position within the village, potentially outside the village hall.
Ditches & hedges
With winter upon us the risk of flooding becomesmore common. Many past flooding issues have beencaused by drainage ditches becoming blocked throughnot being cleared on a regular basis. These works arethe responsibility of the adjacent landowner.
It is also the responsibilityof landowners to ensurethat hedgerows which borderthe highway or footpathsare properly cut back.
Failure to undertake appropriate maintenance ofditches or hedgerows could lead to any necessaryworks being carried out by SCC, with the cost forsuch works being forwarded to the individuallandowner/householder.
Community Police
Dog mess
When you walk your dog please do not leave dog mess onfootpaths, verges or open areas. We have had reports of increasesin the amount of dog mess around the village, especially alongRiddings Lane and on the playing fields, which is particularlyunpleasant for the children and families using the facilities.
Thank you to those who are collecting dog mess and using the binson the playing field.
….and horses
While, unlike dog walkers, horse riders arenot obliged to remove droppings it would beconsiderate if they would, wherever possible, take some responsibility and do so. RiddingsLane is a particular issue.
Phone 101 for non-emergency matters.

105 – the new number to call if you have a power cut
When the power goes out, you may be unsure about
what to do and many wrongly think they should call the
electricity supplier they pay their bill to. 105 aims to
solve this problem, providing an easy-to-remember
number that will put you through to your local electricity
network operator - the company that manages the
cables, wires and substations that bring electricity into
local homes and businesses.
105 is a free service for people in England, Scotland and
Wales, and you can call the number from most landlines
and mobile phones. It doesn't matter who you choose to
buy your electricity from - anyone can call 105.
You can also call 105 if you spot damage to electricity
power lines and substations that could put you, or
someone else, in danger. If there's a serious immediate
risk, call the emergency services too.
Don't be left in the dark. Call 105. To find out more, visit
