Tables and GraphsDefinition: Tables and graphs use numbers to compare measurements in an organized way to collect and display data.Table: Displays information in rows and columns so that it is easier to read and understand.

Bar GraphA bar graph uses rectangular blocks, or bars, of varying sizes to show the relationship among variables.

Circle GraphCircle graphs are sometimes called pie graphs. Circle graphs show parts of the whole.Think of a pizza cut into parts.A circle is how many degrees?Each part is a fraction of the whole.

Reading GraphsThe scale of a graph can be misleading. Open your text book to pg. 57.Note the two bar graphs at the top of the page. Both have exactly the same data, however, the manner it is presented could cause you to have different conclusions.Read paragraphs under Reading graphs.

Notebook CheckTomorrow you must have your notebooks organized. Each paper must be present in order. There should be 15 pages. The notebook counts as 10% of your grade. This should be the easiest grade you get in this class.
