Draw Attention to Your
Desserts with Whipped
Cream
We all know that
whipped cream adds
appeal to a dessert.
When everyone else
is using whip cream
to top their desserts,
how can you make
your sweets stand
out from the rest of
the crowd?
First off, making
whipped cream with
your own whipped
cream dispenser gives
you an instant leg up.
Secondly, using various
flavors in your cream
will make it even more
special.
Of course you can always buy
a can of fluffy whipped cream,
tub of frozen topping, or even
ice cream from local stores; but
there is no real substitute for
delicious homemade whipped
cream.
Below are some recipes from a full-bodied,
traditional whipping cream formula, to a non-fat
concoction.
Find the one that is appropriate for you.
Pies, cakes, puddings, fruit, and so many other
good things await dessert time magic!
This is a classic and easy concoction, and yields great
results if the whisk and bowl are ice cold! Thus, you
have to place them in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes
before use. In addition, use a metal bowl for best
results.
You will need the following ingredients:
1 cup heavy dairy cream,
1 tsp. vanilla extract, and
1 tablespoon confectioner's sugar.
In a large, pre-chilled bowl, beat the heavy dairy
cream using an electric hand mixer on low to medium
speed until you see stiff peaks ready to form.
Make sure not to
overbeat the
ingredients.
For added variety,
regular granulated
sugar may be used
instead of confectioner's
sugar.
You can also lessen
vanilla extract to only
1/2 teaspoon.
Refrigerate leftovers in
covered containers.
Not-Quite-Homemade
Fluffy Whip Topping
If you do not have heavy cream on
hand, you cannot find refrigerated
canned remedies, or there is not time to
defrost a frozen topping, you can still
create a tasty whipped cream in case
unannounced guests visit your home.
This recipe is ideal to use with fresh fruits or
puddings because of the unique flavor of the ricotta
cheese.
Get 1 cup part-skim ricotta cheese, 1 tbsp. honey,
and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract to begin making
the recipe.
Place these ingredients in a blender and process
on low speed until smooth and creamy.
Refrigerate any leftover topping and make sure the
container is tightly covered.
Delightful Non-Fat
Whipped Topping
Women who are conscious of their weight will love this
recipe.
The following ingredients are needed for the recipe:
1/3 cup nonfat (skim) milk,
1/3 cup instant non-fat dry milk solids,
1-2 teaspoons honey (to taste), and
1/4 teaspoon vanilla.
Pour the milk into a small metal mixing bowl and then
put the bowl in a freezer until ice crystals begin to
form. Normally, this takes about 15 to 20 minutes
waiting time.
While waiting, put the mixer beaters in the freezer too.
After this, beat the dry milk solids
into the milk using handheld
electric mixer set on high speed.
Beat until soft peaks begin to
form.
Add honey to taste and vanilla
and continue beating for another
two minutes or until stiff peaks
begin to appear.
If time is of essence, you
can still concoct your own
recipe using cream
chargers and a whipped
cream dispenser.
With these gadgets, you
can simply add the
ingredients, shake them
together, and then serve
them in your favorite
dessert.
Cream chargers consist of steel
cylinders filled with N2O.
You normally add the ingredients
to your whipped cream
dispenser then place it onto the
holder of your dispenser.
Shake a little to mix the
ingredients and then release the
cream by squeezing the handle
on your dispenser.
Simple, easy, and fast!
