Use drapery as a décor solution and visual art. Consider the color, amount, type of fabric, and the lighting possibilities. With drapery, you can complement your existing décor or create an environment that achieves your aesthetic design.

❶ Dress up a plain or unlikely space, transforming it to match your vision for the event

❷ Enhance a stage with a backdrop or “frame” your stage to become a focal point

❸ Make a statement with a dramatic entryway

❹ Mask an entire room with fabric flowing on every wall

❺ Choose drape colors that complement your theme or your organization’s branding

❻ Create theatrical drama by shining lights onto the drape

❼ Add swags for a formal touch to the drape panels

Drapery is not just for decoration. It also functions as attractive wall dividers and coverings. Drapery can solve your room set-up dilemmas such as a space that is too large, unsightly or otherwise unworkable.

Reasons to divide your space…

• To create trade show booths of all sizes

• To reduce the size of the room: an area that’s too large for a small group can be made more intimate by partitioning the room

• Create a room within a room

…and to conceal parts of your space

• Drape off the caterer from the event, the cocktail lounge from the dinner area, the backstage from the show floor

• Hide ugly walls, sconces, windows, bleachers, signs, trash areas, etc.

• Reduce echo and acoustic noise in spaces with hard surfaces like glass, concrete or marble

• Use as a photo backdrop for unobstructed, glare-free photos

• Darken a room by covering windows to eliminate glare and other outside interference

• Decrease heat in the room by covering windows to prevent sunlight from coming in

• Create hallways to guide and direct your guests

BANJO• Typically 8’ high but can go up to 12’• Available in many colors• Lightweight fabric• Used more for visual purposes than for sound

VELOUR• Typically 12’-16’ high but can be any height• Available in any color• Great for acoustics since it minimizes echo

and noise bounce

In addition to traditional draperies, there are stretch and custom-printed fabrics. And believe it or not, it is even possible to get scented fabric…imagine a floral pattern that smells like flowers!

How is drapery hung? Up to 16’ of drape can be ground-supported from a temporary structure. If it’s taller than 16’ it typically hangs from a structural piece of the building.

Add that finishing touch and style to your event. Drapery is truly a versatile décor solution and a terrific way to convert your space into the perfect venue.
