1.3 Staging beams
The staging beams are mounted on a special bracket which respects the 7” distance for each detector. Pre-stage and stage beam are crossing the track, 7 inches apart. The beams are mounted at 2 inches about the track surface and broken by the cars front tyre. Ensure that the beams and reflector are correctly aligned.

When the wheels cross the first beam, the Pre-Stage signal will light like the NHRA christmas tree:
Pre-Stage beam: A light beam-to-photocell connection in each lane that triggers the small pre-stage lights atop the Christmas Tree. The pre-stage lights signal to drivers that they are close to staging, approximately seven inches behind the starting line.
When the wheels cross both beams, all lights are ON
The vehicle is “staged”
If the vehicle is deep staged, following sign will blink on corresponding lane. This occurs no incidence on the timekeeping.

3. Get started
This software runs only with Ethernet connection in parallel of a timekeeping software. We recommend to use a (Gigabit) switch in order to connect the Chronoprinter on the network. A. Launch the software
1. Connect your timing devices
Use an Ethernet cable to connect the Chronoprinter 540 or 545 on your network. Ensure that all IP address are on the same gateway and no double IPs are in conflit.
Enter the IP address of your device (default address is 192.168.1.50) Click on connect. Until the socket is open and the printer of your CP540/545 switched on, a confirmation message will be printed. Set the trigger information of the timing photocells (we recommend to use the HL2-31 or HL2-35)
Set the input information into which channel the Christmas tree signal has been connected. That’s the “Green light trigger”
2. Connect the Christmas tree and the control box
Connect the Christmas tree on the control box (power + data). The control box is driven by a serial communication port RS232.
All available COM port will be listed. Select correct COM port and click “Connect Start Lights”. The control box gives an acknowledge and will confirm the communication status.

3. Connect your Jump start Modulo HL950
Connect the Modulo over RS232 or RS485 (please refer to Modulo display user manual). Even our radio HL675 could be connected directly on your laptop. All available COM port will be listed. Select correct COM port and click “Connect”.
You can select the image to display in case of jump start. The image will be the same for both lanes. Then enter the serial number of the Modulo Display which will be for each lane.

B. Elite V3 setup
Elite V3 should run on the same network as the Christmas tree controller. Connect your device over TCP and select the Chronoprinter 540 protocol (the same as the CP545).
The race settings are as you connect all device like or as in our example bellow:
LANE 1 (left)
LANE 2 (right)

For the speed, just set the channel and distance between both photocells for each lane
You can change field text in SETTINGS – OPTIONS – EDIT - Edit intermediate fields text
For more informations, please consult Elite V3 user manual.
