Martin Flat Bottom Drag ConveyorsMartin offers a complete line of Flat Bottom

Drags to handle capacities up to 31,876 CFH.

Martin Super Duty Flat Bottom Drags have been successfully used in applications with conveyors reaching lengths of over 660 feet.

The Martin Flat Bottom Drag Conveyor is constructed with heavy-duty formed channel sides, with bolted bottoms and covers. The replaceable rail return system is designed with a rail liner when wear is a concern.

The Martin Flat Bottom Drag Conveyor is especially suited for handling free flowing grains. When heavier abrasive materials need to be conveyed, contact Martin about our Mill Duty Drag Conveyor with Forged Chain.

POPULAR OPTIONS

Intermediate Discharge Allows for multiple discharge locations. Bend SectionDesigned for installations that require a slight incline or decline along conveyor route.

Liners of Various Materials Ability to use liners best suited for individual application for longer wear life. Return Rails

Return rails lined with UHMW for smoother, quieter operation, or AR when wear is an issue.

A.R. Steel Bottom Plate Increases wear life and reduces downtime and maintenance costs. Self Cleaning Tail Reduces material buildup in tail of

conveyor.

Split Sprockets Allows for ease of replacement and reduces downtime and maintenance costs. Plug Switch Stops conveyor operation if material clogs

conveyor.

Bypass Inlets

Material bypasses top flights and is directed to the bottom flights along both sides of conveyor for smoother material handling.

Discharge GatesSingle or multiple locations for versatility. Unique carry bars keep chain from dropping into gate.

Extended Wear Options Heavier steel frames, chains, paddles and drive systems are available. Cover Clamps Screw clamps hold cover in place

alllowing easy access.

Warning And Safety Reminder

Lock Out Power before removing covers, guards or before servicing. Exposed moving parts can cause severe injury.

Capacity FPM/RPM

Notes: 1. Capacities are based on 90% loading with free-flowing grains at 48

pounds per cubic foot.2. Selection of conveyors should be based upon material

characteristics.3. Capacities and speeds will vary for other types of materials and for

materials conveyed at an incline. Please consult Martin if you have any questions concerning your applications.

Cement Clinker DustApplication: Cement Clinker Dust up a 30 degree incline.

Problem: Existing screw conveyor was noisy, difficult and expensive to maintain, and ran at high RPM.

Solution: Martin’s L-Path drag conveyor, quiet operation, fewer moving parts, less expensive to maintain, and could handle the incline with no problems.

Documented Savings: Customer’s maintenance and energy savings estimated at $50,000 / year.

Lead TimeMartin was able to ship conveyor to Missouri in 5 working days to meet rush delivery requirements. Normal lead time would have been 15 work days.

ChemicalChemical plant using a short screw feeding an incline screw conveyor to another horizontal screw conveyor.

Problem: Each conveyor requires its own separate drive, resulting in high energy consumption. Three screw conveyors also require a great deal of regular maintenance to keep the abrasive material moving.

Solution: Martin supplied an L-Path Drag Conveyor with AR liners, hardened split sprockets, and mill duty chain to replace the 3 separate conveyors. Annual energy consumption was cut in half. Maintenance costs were reduced by 60%.

Documented Savings: Customer’s estimated savings $45,000/year.
