“We have a school in Chile and it seems it’s been forgotten about, which is why we decided to this. In May the children whom attended regular tae kwon do lessons kicked for Chile in an attempt to raise money. Sources tell us it was firstly just to be for the staff but the children wanted to be involved. They included the children and also the parents; they held cake stalls and helped out monitor- ing the bouncy castle and other items in the fair. The kicks rose over £1000 which I’m sure Chile will be grateful for, not only to know they have some money to help them but they also have the comfort that they aren’t forgotten. The kicks took place over four hours giving the children rest breaks and time to warm up and warm down, the kicks had to be perfect each time and it was very difficult to keep the standard from slipping. “The children kicked perfectly and acknowledged when they didn’t, and fixed it. CHILDREN KICK FOR THE CHILE SURVIVORS

Graffiti is an issue in the whole of Birmingham and is present in West Heath. We can see the clear disre-spect for the community and the people in it. Having said that it’s in smaller amounts than it used to be and it seems to be less violent and graphical as it used to.

RUNDOWN TORENOVATED!

RedHill road saw a cat be run over and run away fearing for its life. A passer-by explains the story “The cat just walked into the road and the car failed to stop even though it tried. It must have flown 4 me-tres down the road. I was shocked and shrieked aloud. The cat then got up and ran across the remainder of the road to the other side, the driver watched and then drove off as he saw the cat go across the road. I ran after the cat to make sure it was okay, and it was sitting on a wall licking its paw, I smiled and car-ried on, shaking my head thinking how lucky the cat was.” Clearly Jasmine Carter was shocked at this unexpected instant and seemed genuinely worried, tracking down the cat to make sure it was okay was an honour-able thing to do.

West Heath Park situated in Kings Norton, Birmingham, had a renovation a few years ago. Journalist Tymia Mills went to see if the new ap-paratus and path was still in good condition. The park was empty and un-used by the community of Kings Norton and was described as “a poor excuse for a park”. The council took action and added in a new path that runs through the whole park, two sections where apparatus are situated, and a football playing area. Interviewing Nicholas Pryce - a regular to the park - enlightened us about how the park was seen by the community members. “The park looks friendlier and has a safer appearance. Its more child friendly than it was” he also told her that he would walk there in the night now whereas before he wouldn’t, describing it as “chav central” The government also added street lamps to lighten up the park alongside the path. These were described as “needed” due to the dark-ness and the “unsafe vibes” The apparatus in the park, as expected had a number of graffiti marks and broken parts, having said that its clear from the photographs its been majorly looked after, the field area is green and clean which proves people are taking more care with their litter and of the apparatus.

SCHOOLS GET MONEYSchools deemed to be lucky.England Schools are getting more money from the goverment. A thing which the peo-ple of Kings Norton will be happy to her. It means that children will have better chanc-es and hopes.

“The Fordrough pub” is currently in process of being knocked down and rebuilt into a Tesco superstore. It’s going to be located on Fordrough road and will be a welcome d attribute to the area of kings Norton. The people who live nearby will be happy to know it’s there and the surrounding areas – Long Bridge will be grateful because they wont have to go as far.

The pub had been shut down for at least a year and so a new vibe was due. Having had such a negative feel about the location because of the fact the pub was shut down by enforcement rather than closing down by choice. A new Tesco will act as a welcomed replacement. It too could offer countless teenagers part time work as well as long time job seekers.
