Assessing Student Readiness to Take Board Exams
OBJECTIVES
• Describe how to map out their curriculum to match their program’s board exam.
• Verify program outcomes prepare students to pass boards and become licensed in their field of study.
• Align unit objectives to course SLOs to program outcomes.
At the end of this presentation the learner will be able to:
MAPPING A CURRICULUM
• Review the board exam’s test plan, state/national regulations, and your accreditation standards
• Align program outcomes with your state/national regulations & accreditation standards
• Map course SLOs to end of program student learning outcomes (EPSLO)
• Map content in each course

The systemic plan of evaluation contains: (continued on next slide)
ACEN STANDARD 6: OUTCOMES
•Specific, measureable expected levels of achievement for each end-of-program student learning outcome.
•Appropriate assessment method(s) for each end-of-program student learning outcome and each program outcome.
•Regular intervals for the assessment of each end-of-program student learning outcome and each program outcome.
•Sufficient data to inform program decision-making for the maintenance and improvement of each end-of-program student learning outcome and each program outcome.
ACEN STANDARD 6: OUTCOMES
•Analysis of assessment data to inform program decision-making for the maintenance and improvement of each end-of-program student learning outcome and each program outcome.
•Documentation demonstrating the use of assessment data in program decision-making for the maintenance and improvement of each end-of-program student learning outcome and each program outcome.
