    AccomplishmentsResearch

    (i) Developed more than fifteen (15) models to estimate the economic losses caused by different livestock diseases forprioritization and to assess the suitability of strategies to reduce these economic losses. Proposed more than ten

    model has opened the new gate of research and development in the world.

    (ii) More than ten (10) databases and seven softwares were developed to accelerate the research and developmentwork in Veterinary Sciences in general and Bioinformatics in particular.

    (iii) Genes responsible for Breast cancer, Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and H1N1 swine flue were identified either todevelop suitable therapy or drugs or vaccines.

    (iv) In total handled 21 research projects as Principal Investigator and Associate out of which nine (9) were externallyfunded projects consisting of five (5) Nationally and four (4) Internationally funded research projects.

    P.G. Teaching

    (i) Played a lead role in framing all the rules and regulations including admission criteria etc of Deemed University, IVRI,Izatnagar during the year 1984.

    (ii) Worked as major advisor of eight (8) Masters degree students - (5 M.V.Sc. Biostatistics & 3 M.Sc Student ofBioinformatics). Guided over 114 Doctoral and 212 Masters Degree students as Chairman and member of students

    Advisory Committees.

    (iii)Worked as examiner, paper setter, and expert selection committees to select Asstt. Professor, Associate Professor,Professor, Principal Scientist etc for BHU-Varanasi, ASRB-New Delhi, PG Selection Board -UP

    Administration

    Infra-structure Developed

    (i) Created Data Processing Centre, Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar (U.P.) during the year 1974.

    (ii) Created Division of Livestock Economics and Statistics, IVRI, Izatnagar (U.P.)during the year 1975.

    (iii) Created Bioinformtics Centre, Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar (U.P.) during the year 1987.

    (iv) LAN Connectivity for the whole Institute, Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar (U.P.) during the year

    2002.

    (v) 512 kbps Lease Line to provide intra and internet connectivity for the whole Institute during the year 2003-04 at

    National Library of Veterinary Sciences (NLVS), IVRI, Izatnagar (U.P.)

    (vi) Created the Computer Cell at LES&IT Division, IVRI, Izatnagar (U.P.) during the year 1991-92.

    (vii) Succeeded in establishing Library Information System along with complete automation of Indian Veterinary

    Research Institute, Izatnagar (U.P.) by introducing Libsys, different databases etc. during the year 2001-02.

    (viii) Created a new lab of Bioinformatics during the year 2003 and provided bioinformatics facilities to all the

    students and Scientists of Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar (U.P.), 2003-04.

    (ix) Established a new computer lab of twenty two computers with internet facilities at NLVS, Indian Veterinary

    Research Institute, Izatnagar (U.P.) during the year 2006-07 to provide internet facilities to all the students and

    scientists of the Institute.

    Educational Development

    (i) Started M.V.Sc / M.Sc. programme in Biostatistics, 1984(ii) Started M.V.Sc / M.Sc. programme in Livestock Economics, 1984.(iii)Got approved Ph.D. programme in Biostatistics from the Academic Session 2011-12.

    Organized many International, National Seminars, Symposia and conferences in Livestock Economics, Biostatistics,

    Epidemiology etc from 1984 to 2010.

    (iv)Organized many National and Institutional Training Programmes in Bioinformatics, Library databases and ComputerApplication as below :
