APPENDIX-IV

1. I had independently handled the Minor Research Project entitled “Statistical &Scientific Data management System” during the two years (1994-1996) and completed it successfully. The project was financially supported by the Vice-Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Aligarh (enclosed the photocopy of the sanctioned money for each year).

The abstract of the “Statistical & Scientific DBMS” Generally any study which broadness the frontiers of Knowledge or Provides techniques of saving time, money and labor can be said to add a new dimension to the technical or economic development of the country. Commercially available DBMS are, in general, not good enough for statistical and scientific applications and offer extremely constrained query languages but neither has special purpose system that has currently been developed. The project is a proposal to study new techniques related to the statistical and scientific DBMS and to provide:-

(i) Algebraic user languages for scientific statistical application. (ii) A “Seamless” extensibility in the database environment, that would allow

application dependent modeling facilities to be added through user defined object type machine.

(iii) The ability to handle large scale special purpose database such as database over a particle physics, experiments or molecular biology database of great complexity and like.
