William “Bill Lucas, Jr. Bill and Jeanne Lucas have been Durhamites all

Their lives. After their marriage on August 2, 1959,

These role models not only give their lives to the church but civically, politically, and

educationally to the community and the state.

It is with great pleasure and a great sense of joy and gratitude that we celebrate this Scholarship Day of

1999, which is a time we encourage and establish an opportunity to invest in our children and youth of

this fellowship educational pursuit. We are not just interested in their spiritual growth in life, but their

ability to grow throughout achievements. We express our encouragement in a tangible way in order to

provide an opportunity for the youth of Mount Gilead to fulfill their educational goals

We must remember “a mind is a terrible thing to waste.” There must be assurance that the minds of our

youths will be used for great purposes in life.
