News of ABA grad at Chesapeake College goes viral When Irene Moore received her high school diploma through Chesapeake’s Adult Basic Educa- tion Program in October, the news was posted on the Chesapeake Col- lege Facebook page and went viral within minutes. She became a social media sensa- tion. She is a 78-year-old grandmother from Kent County. At the press release date, the post about Mrs. Moore had reached more than 350,000 people and garnered 4,000 “Shares.” Com- ments praised her determination. Dr. Hilda Kabali joins TLC as a Pediatrician Three Lower Counties (TLC) Community Services recent- ly welcomed Dr. Hilda Kabali to help provide pediatric care on the Lower Shore. She is practicing at the TLC pediatric office in Prin- cess Anne. A na- tive of Tanza- nia, Kabali received her medical degree from Wroclaw Medical University in Wroclaw, Poland. She also received a postgraduate Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the London School of Tropical Medicine in London. She completed her pediatric resi- dency from Albert Einstein Medi- cal Center in Philadelphia. The sen- iors were treated to dinner. Entertainment, and a bag of gifts for each. Pictured above is one of the scenes at the event as the seniors enjoyed themselves. Insert- ed above in the right corner is the Exalted Ruler of the Lodge, Fred Marten, who welcomed the guests and thanked the donors and members who worked to make it a success. Queen City Lodge is the International Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World lodge in Salisbury. The Success Temple is the sister organi- zation of daughter Elks. Sons of American Legion squadron 145 had its toys for tots give away for kids recently at the Howard J. Purnell Post 145 in Salisbury. Over 400 toys were given to 176 boys and girls for Christmas.
