INTERNATIONAL ORGANISING COMMITTEESCOLIOSIS RESEARCH SOCIETY

LOCAL ORGANISING COMMITTEE

Dear Colleagues,

It is my greatest pleasure to welcome the Scoliosis ResearchSociety to Malaysia. It is also a very great honour for the MalaysiaSpine Society as we have the opportunity to meet the internationalexperts of spine deformity surgery in Malaysia. This is animportant step in the development of spine surgery for our societyspecifically, and for Malaysian orthopaedic surgery in general.

Our inaugural meeting has been themed “Challenges andControversies in Spine Surgery”. We feel this is very timely,

as knowledge and techniques in spine surgery have expanded, surgeons require theplatform to evaluate these developments in meetings such as these. To this end,we invite speakers and experts from all corners of the world to come and share with us,present for us and teach us what is new, not forgetting that we have to also evaluate theoutcomes of established practice.

Once again, on behalf the Malaysia Spine Society, I welcome each and everyone of youto Malaysia for a stimulating scientific programme, and an equally exciting socialprogramme.

PROF DATO’ MOHAMAD ABDUL RAZAKOrganising Chairman &President, Malaysia Spine Society
