ABOUTTHERESEARCHWORKDURINGPh.D.DuringPh.D.research,twosuccessfuland2Dimensional(2D)encodinganddecodingtechniquesi.e. Modified Prime Sequence Codes and Superimposed Cyclic Optical Orthogonal Codes forOCDMAsystemhavebeendesignedbyremodelingandimprovisingtheexistingconceptofPrimeSequenceCodesandOpticalOrthogonalCodes.Theworkdonefurtherverifiestheperformanceof these codes by designing a realistic simulation setup of the same; by considering all thepractical impairments e.g. transmitter, channel and receiver noise etc. The performanceevaluationofthedesignedOCDMAsystemhasbeencarriedoutforMetropolitanAreaNetworkat1Gbps,2.5Gbpsand5Gbpsbitrateoverafiberlengthof60Kmbytakingintoconsiderationalargenumberofparameterssuchasbitrate,receivedpower,numberofusers,qualityfactoretc.A three way correlation is designed between various input parameters e.g. bit rate, receivedpowerwithrespecttonumberofusersandperformanceindicatorsi.e.BERandqualityfactor.Acompletesetofpossiblevaluesofinputparameterswithrespecttonumberofusersisderivedforadequatestandardofperformancee.g.toachieveminimumbiterrorrateof10-9,minimumreceivedpowerforvariousnumberofusers,qualityfactoretc.
