• That for a same disease, different patient will present different traits, which allow for individualization. Consequently, the chosen remedies are equally different.
• However, how does one remedy express itself in different diseases and patients?
We cannot “identify” remedies, only indicatorsare available: signs which point out to certain remedies.
1) Repertory rubrics – help to restrict the field of possible remedies
2) However, what truly helps to restrict the field of possible remedies are not isolated signs, but configurations
Groups of symptoms that appear together
To find configurations, it is useful to know the picture of intoxications. For instance, when we know how atropin
intoxication is manifested, it easier to find a configuration of Belladona. In intoxications, symptoms don’t appear isolated,
but in complexes, due to the physio-pathological processes elicited by the toxic substance.
1. Large bullae
2. Swelling
3. Ecchymosis
4. Cyanosis
5. Lymphatic disturb
• The action of a TOXIC substance
• Producing:1. Microthrombosis with
2. Dilaceration of the superficial layer of the skin, which is detached, forming bullae,
3. Disturb in coagulation,
4. Disturb in microcirculation, affecting particularly the veins (cyanosis)
5. Edema
• It could be some disease, like e.g. bullouspemphigoid
• Or an intoxication

• When a patient presents a similar configuration, it points out to a snake remedy, as Lachesis
• However, it must be kept in mind that we will not find in the patient the full picture of an intoxication, but only its main characteristics
• Patient consults in poor general state; dyspneic; very irritable.
• Signs of chronic pulmonary swelling on auscultation.
• Hospitalized for the 3 previous weeks, without improvement.
• Ulcers in the legs.
• Peripheral edema
• Cyanosis• Dark blue hue on the distal
third of the legs• Congestion on the proximal
third• Ulcers
As it is an unusual localization, it is a peculiar sign
Bleeding in the place of venopuncture
1. Bifid
2. Drawn to the left
3. Dramatic cyanosis
4. Toxic white coating
• Alternation of red (congestion) and blue (cyanosis) small areas
• Wet secretion
Lack of granulation tissue = atrophic ulcer = necrosis
Only a few remedies present atrophic ulcers:
Lach; Merc; Carb-an;
Carb-v; Kali-bi; some
acids (Ph-ac; Sul-ac;
Fl-ac)
• In every place and lesion, the same phenomena:
– Alternation of congestion and cyanosis on small areas
– Toxic aspect
– Infiltration edema
– Ecchymosis (disturb in coagulation)
– Microthrombosis, venous stasis, venectasis
– Necrosis
• Improvement in circulation
• Improvement of dyspnea
• Improvement of mental symptoms
• Improvement of weakness
• Improvement of pulmonary edema on auscultation
• Could decrease diuretic agents
Severe dyspnea:must fixate the chest
with Hippocratic nails
1. Cyanosis
2. Toxic white coating
3. Deviated to the left
• Severe cyanosis
• Dyspnea
• Characteristic aspect of the tongue
• Does not need as much ventilation as Carb-v
• Epitelioma on the nose is did not ulcerate as fast as in Carb-an
1. Deep ulcer
2. Blue margins
3. Black background
4. Alternation of red and blue small areas
5. Lack of granulation
6. Grayish areas of necrosis
7. Edema around
1. Necrosis
2. Black hue
3. Edema
4. Congestion around
• But the hue is blue, instead of red
• Wet, instead of dry
1. Cyanosis
2. Toxic white coating
3. Cyanosis on lips
There are no 2 skin diseases exactly alike: we must find what belongs “to the patient”, instead of “the disease”
It is not an abstract psoriasis, but the psoriasis of THIS patient
At the first sight: typical aspect of psoriasis
• Alternation of blue and red areas
• The background of the psoriasis lesion is cyanotic
1. Bifid
2. Drawn to the left
3. Blue
Lips: alternation of red and blue
Face: congestion
