Doug
This is the kind of communication that has made our work even more challenging
This was JUST received from SPS, and is different from all the communication preceding this, indicative of our beginning Phase 2
of our work in August
Give OSPI Approval of the RCCAP and the need to EXECUTE the Plan approved, I am VERY concerned about this communique
and the implication that things will be delayed until Sept, and there could be an interruption in our work with SPS
I have asked that they amend our current Contract and add 1/11th of the $450k we have agreed to for Phase 2, and see what
response I get from them
But I wanted to make you aware of my grave concern which has arisen after reading what I just received
Sorry to trouble you with this, but given your intense interest in SPS, and your commitment to Targeted Monitoring of the RC
CAP, a delay until September (possibly longer) would not be helpful to the Execution of the RCCAP you have approved
Look forward to your advice
Let me know if we should chat by phone about this

Bob,
Thank you for the outline of the contract.
I fully understand the enthusiasm to begin the contract as soon as possible however, I need to inform you that we will not have
access to the funds until September 1st. Since the Seattle Public Schools fiscal years begin in September, the Accounting Office
will not be able to approve this contract until our FY201415 funds are accessible, probably late August.
Another contributing factor to the anticipated delay is the contract amount is $450,000 we will need to have SPS Board approval
prior to us being able to execute the contract. Thus meaning we will need to have it presented to the C&I cabinet first, then
presented to the Board in August and approval on September 3rd.
Seeing as though the original contract runs through August 31, 2014 and we have only executed 2/3rds of the contract would it
be possible to estimate the cost of the August time and possibly add that amount, if it is not too much, to the current contract
and then subtract that amount from the initial amount of $450,000. If we go with this suggestion, we would not have to
withhold services, and just continue work as normal without delay.
Let me know what you think.
