(2011-12)
Part A : What is the plan of action chalked out by the IQAC in the beginning of the
year towards quality enhancement & what is the outcome by the end of the
year ?
The action plan of the Institution for the year 2011-12 :
In its meeting held on 28th April 2011, the I.Q.A.C. of the College
reviewed the infrastructure developments and the achievements in the
academic, co-curricular, extra curricular and sports field. Expressing overall
satisfaction for the developments and achievements of the College and the
other stakeholders, following concrete plan for the year 2011-12 was
suggested univocally after discussion -
Construction of Hostel building and renovation of the Gymkhana
Concretization of the Basketball ground.
Acoustic redesigning of the Saraswati Hall.
Generation of Internal Resources in the form of Consultancy and
Analytical services.
Strengthening of Alumnae Association
Improvisation of the Library Services by introducing the RFID system
and free access to students for the books.
Making provisions for award of prizes for the students showing
outstanding performance in sports, NCC Cadets, NSS volunteers and
meritorious services of the Non-teaching Staff.
Implementation of Government Resolution of Biometric System of
attendance for the staff.
Introduction of short term, job oriented, self funded Certificate / Diploma
courses.
Establishment of the ‘Bahinabai Adhyasan Kendra’ for the study of the
rural Marathi poetry and its history.

Strengthening of the ‘Jidnyasa – General Knoweldge Competition’ by
taking it to the State level.
The outcome of the Action Plan during 2011-12 :
1) For the construction of Hostel building UGC sanctioned a grant of Rs.
80,00,000/- out of which Rs. 40,00,000/- have been received. The work
is in progress. Renovation of Gymkhana has been completed as per
suggestions of the IQAC.
2) UGC has sanctioned Rs. 20,00,000/- out of which Rs. 10,00,000/- have
been received for the concretization of the ground for the outdoor sport -
Basket Ball. Every step has been taken to complete the work within
stipulated time.
3) Technical advice is being sought on the acoustic redesign of the
Sarswati Hall. However, an air conditioned Meeting Hall with audio
visual aids to accommodate 40 persons has been completed and is in
use. Similarly the renovation of the Dhande Hall has been commenced to
meet the need of programs [expected to be complied with the Saraswati
Hall ] accommodating 250 students.
4) The suggestion of the IQAC has been taken seriously by many of the
departments. The Departments like Psychology, Geography, Zoology,
Competitive Exams Guidance have successfully generated internal
resources by providing consultancy, as shown below.

5) Strengthening of Alumni Association : The Association in
collaboration with the heads of the departments contacted more than five
hundred past students and organized a get–together of the Alumni on

25th March 2012 in the Dhande Hall from 10.00 A.M. to 1.00 P.M. Mrs.
Smita Wagh, our Alumna, Ex-President of Jalgaon Zilha Partishad
graced the function as the Chief Guest . Principal Dr. S.S. Rane in his
Presidential Address made a power point presentation of the various
developments on the Campus. The Chairman of the Association Prof.
B.S. Pawar chalked out various programs to be implemented in the near
future to strengthen the Association.
6) In the Library, OPEC system has been introduced to make its functioning
more student-oriented as a source of knowledge. Hence, the introduction
of RFID system will be taken up in due course of time.
7) Gymkhana Day is being celebrated separately to felicitate the
outstanding sports girls. There is a provision made to provide financial
assistance to meritorious players, NCC cadets and NSS volunteers.
Similarly, from amongst the non-teaching staff, the proposals of Mr.
Suhas Unawane and Mr. Sevakram Mahajan have been sent to the
University for the Award of two increments for their meritorious services.
8) The Biometric system of recording attendance of the staff is to be
implemented soon as its purchase-deal has been finalized.
9) During the year 2011-12, as per the suggestions of the IQAC, job
oriented short term courses have been introduced viz., Beauty Therapy
and Hair dressing (Govt. of India). The College has also got sanctioning
from the University to run the self funded courses like DCM, MBM(CM),
BBA and Microbiology at first year degree level. The College has applied
with the YCMOU, Nasik for modular employable programs.
10) Proposal for the establishment of the Bahinabai Adhyasan Kendra for the
study of rural Marathi Poetry and its history is being given final shape by
the Department of Marathi to be submitted to the Management.
11) The Jidnyasa - General Knowledge Competitive Examination has been
strengthened and taken to the State Level as per the suggestion of the
IQAC, yielding much success and praise from the stake holders. From
21 districts of the Maharashtra State 10,000+ students sought admission
for the said competition. Total cash prizes of Rs. 1,65,000/- were
disbursed to meritorious students. A General Knowledge reference
manual titled ‘Lakshya 2011’ was published to assist the participants as
well as the aspirants for various competitive examination.

Part B : 1. Activities reflecting the goals & objectives of the Institution :
Goals : The Vision of the College reflects the Goals of it as given below –
To work for women’s Social and Economic empowerment and their
emancipation.
To free the women from the shackles of the age-old societal
bondages and make them independent and honorable.
Objectives:
To serve to make the women educated as against plain literate.
To introduce innovative academic methods of teaching and
evaluation.
To offer need-based and job-oriented courses.
To emphasize on raising moral standards and realize higher values of
life, to make the students responsible citizens & thereby contribute to
the Society and the Nation at large, by liberating themselves from
social bondages.
To provide facilities of sports and athletics to rejuvenate the latent
potential in the weaker half of the society to empower them to face all
the challenges in to-day’s competitive world.
To establish links between the College and the Community by taking
a diverse extension activities through different out-rich programmes
and the agencies like NSS, NCC and Extension Activities Committee.
To create a sense of duty towards the community and imbibe social
responsibilities.
These decisive Goals and Objectives of the Institution are pursued
through various academic and non-academic activities. Arts Circle,
N.S.S. & N.C.C. units organize certain regular noteworthy activities.
The Extension Activities Committee also has its valuable contribution
in this regard. Similarly, the Student’s Welfare Circle has been
founded under the Chairmanship of Principal Dr. S.S. Rane as per
the Directions of the University to create a generation of Indian
Youths with a balanced, constructive and positive attitude.

The Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil Earn and Learn Scheme, Student’s
Medical check-up Camps, nomination of the Student’s Council
Members, Self-employment generation through handicraft exhibition,
personality development workshop, ‘Swayamsidha training camps,
Global Warming Awareness program, annual gathering etc. are the
few that lead the College a step ahead in the realization of its goals
and objectives.
The College has adopted a village called Tarsod about 04 kms to the
East of Jalgaon. Following activities were conducted during the year
under report – A tree plantation drive was undertaken on August 25
and 13, 2011 in this village. An awareness camp regarding adverse
effects of water and sound pollution was held on Sept. 10, 2011 in the
village on the eve of the Ganesh Festival.
Educational Tours, Industrial visits were conducted by Dept. of
Chemistry, Geography, Zoology, Botany, Computer Science,
Electronics and Physics.
The Competitive Exam Guidance Centre successfully organized a
state level General Knowledge Test – Jidnyasa and also published a
GK Manual ‘Lakshya – 2011’. Both these activities have greatly
influenced our students, who have become ‘careerist’ rather than the
‘girls in the wings waiting to appear on the stage of marriage’.

3. Innovations in curricular design and transaction :
Job oriented short-term courses are introduced, leading to Certificate
/ Diploma / Advanced Diploma, while student completes her graduation. The
Courses being self-funded, have autonomy about the syllabus, fee structure
and conducting examination as well. However, the certificates of completion
are given the North Maharashtra University.
The Teacher – student ratio demands more use of I.C.T. based
teaching. So the Teachers teach lessons / topics with the help of LCD.
4. Inter-disciplinary programmes started :
The College, being affiliated to the University, pursues the
programmes & courses, which are of intra-disciplinary nature, rather than of
interdisciplinary one. However, English, Environmental Studies, General
Knowledge, Computer Applications are the subjects which are taught in all
faculties – Arts, M.M.S. &S., Science & Commerce.
5. Examination reforms implemented :
Semester system has been introduced at the S.Y.B.A., T.Y.B.A.,
S.Y.B.Com, T.Y.B.Com, T.Y.B.Sc., M.A. (Part II) levels.
C.G.P.A. system is introduced at the S.Y.B.A. / B.Com./ B.Sc. Levels.

17. Community Services :
To help the students to build and develop their personalities as the future
citizens of India, the College encourages them to participate different community
services which aim at creating awareness about social problems and issues and
strengthening the society to fight with them.
The Extension Activities Committee has been framed to serve the
community better. It has organized various awareness creation programs
like distribution of Health Awareness Booklets, organization of lectures on
issues like tobacco eating, disaster management etc. street play on freedom
from addiction; rally to eradicate superstitions. These activities were taken
up in the adopted village named ‘Jalgaon Khurd’.
Some of the major community services extended by the College are
listed below -
A tree plantation Drive was undertaken on 13th Aug. 2011, near the Lokmat
Bhawan, Jalgaon and on 25th August 2011 in the Tarsod Village.
Educational tours / industrial visits were conducted by Dept. of Chemistry,
Geography, Zoology, Botany, Computer Science, Electronics & Physics,
which helped these Departments to look for opportunities of establishing
linkages with certain industries.
The T.Y.B.Com. students planned & carried out interviews with the
Managers of the Supreme Industry, the Khandesh Maul, Axis Bank and
carried out surveys.
Our N.S.S. unit organizes various programs for the socialization of our
students. Some major programs were –
- Participation in the University Rally against female-foetus killing by
presenting a street play on this burning issue.
- Cleanliness Drive in the Campus and around, celebration of ‘Raksha
Bandhan Day’ in the Remand Home, Blood Donation Camps, Eco-friendly
Ganeshotsava, Literacy week, AIDS Awareness Campaign, are the few
major activities of the NSS unit, which serve the purpose of creating
awareness about many social evils and health hazards.

- A Three-day Camp on self building and Self Dependency was organized
in collaboration with the Akhil Bhartiya Marwadi Mahila & Sarvadharma
Sambhav Mahila Manch, Jalgaon. It increased the confidence level of our
students in serving the society better.
- With the help of Jain Tissue Culture Department, the NSS unit of our
College organized a lecture of Prashant Chaudhari on ‘Shashwat Krushi
Vikas’ to make the target group understand that Agriculture development
is the only need of the Time.
- A remarkable extension activity of the College was organization of the
State-level G.K. competition ‘Jidnyasa -2011’ and the publication of a
reference manual ‘Lakshya-2011’. It proved to be an enriching experience
for the Organizers and for the rural youths aspiring for better prospects
through the competitive examinations.
- The College has pursued the goals to be achieved through entering into
MOUS with some institutions. During this year, Beauty Parlour Training
courses were run after signing an MOU with the Jyoti International Beauty
Parlour, Jalgaon.
Thus the College could serve the society at large by organizing
various extension activities and programs, in association with NGO’s & the
University.

The outgoing students of the third year filled the questionnaires as per the
arrangements made by the Feedback Committee.
The committee submitted its report to the Principal.

* An updated, modernized Masters Software (Nagpur) has been installed to
replace the earlier Techno-soft Solutions Software, for salary and other
administrative work.
* The North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon has outsourced with the MKCL,
Pune for the process of admissions and exam results. Being an affiliated
College, the benefits are automatically enjoyed by our students.

32. Performance in sports activities :
During the year 2011-12, the College Teams retained the winner’s
position in seven sports events, viz. Volley ball, Kabbaddi, Kho-Kho,
Hand ball, Cricket, Soft ball and Base ball at the University level.
While our teams bagged the Second position in the Ball- badminton
and the Third, in the Basket ball. Athletics has also been sealed by
the winner athlete’s of our College.
The Intercollegiate Table Tennis Tournaments of the Jalgaon zone
were held from 14/9/2011 to 15/9/2011, by our College.
Miss. Vaishali Ashok Patil (TYBA) won the Late Mrs. Lajwanti Milwani
Spors General Championship (2011-12) for her performance in
various sport events held in the College during 20/12/2011 to
23/12/2011.
Miss. Nalini Bhalchandra Jadhav (TYBA) was selected for the
International Softball Camp.

On the occasion of the Gymkhana Day on 31/10/2011, meritorious
sports girls were honoured at the hands of Miss. Tejaswani Manoj
Mule [Gold Medalist Asian Nembaj] Mr. Ashok Jain, the Vice
Presidentof the Jain Irrigation & the President of the Jain Sports
Academy presided over the function. Prof. N.S. Patil [Joint Secretary,
Lewa Educational Union] & Dr. Dinesh Patil [Sports Director, N.M.

35. Activities of the Career Guidance and Counseling Committee:
During the academic year 2011-12, the Career Guidance and Counseling
Committee planned and organized various activities to bring into reality the
goals and objectives of the Institution. It organized experts lectures, training
programs & Exhibitions, industrial visits & campus interviews to imbibe the
qualities of a corporate personality amongst the students.
Mrs. Anuradha Patil explained the Banking Recruitment procedures in her
lecture.
Smt. Jyoti Mahajan spoke on Personality Development.
On 22nd & 23rd Dec. 2011, Handicraft Exhibition was organized, in which 68
students actively participated and ‘learned to earn’ by selling their product.
On 13th Jan. 2012, a workshop on ‘Cookery and Bakery’ was organized.
Mrs. Vaishali Gaikwad demonstrated the baking skill and also of making
biscuits. 72 participants were benefited.
08 students were promoted to participate in the ‘Agricultural exhibition’ held
by the Bharat Krushak Samaj at Jalgaon. Our representatives learned the

Communication Skills in Marketing their homemade products like liquid
soap, perfume, macramé articles and bags.
To develop qualities like decision making , social awareness, self esteem,
practical-wit, etc. Our students participated in a three-day workshop on
‘SD Scheme for Educational and Entrepreneurial Development’ during
21st to 23rd January 2012.
From 16th January 2012 a government recognized course in Basics of
‘Beauty Therapy and Hair Dressing’ was started in collaboration with the
Jyoti International Beauty Parlour’. Many students have been trained to
have self-employment.
A Cosmetic Consumer Cell was opened on 10th February 2012, to get
beauty products on subsidized rates. 02 students could earn enough
income by selling beauty products/ cosmetics.
36. Placement services provided to students :
Placement Camps were organized to provide job opportunities to the
needy students :-
In the Campus interviews 13 students were selected. 01 was selected
to work in the Jalgaon People’s Co-operative Bank. 03 were selected by the
Rekha Gas Agencies and 09 by the Navgeevan Super Shoppee.
01 student was given an appointment by Mr. Deelipji Chaube, a
celebrity businessman to have a Pencil Sketch, Principal Dr. S.S. Rane
remained very instrumental in all the functioning of the Placement Cell.
37. Development programme for Non-teaching staff:
Non- teaching Staff Academy was inaugurated at the hands of Principal
Balasaheb Chavan (Chalisgaon). He, in his Inaugural Address, underlined
the importance of the human resource development programmes and
expressed a wish that the non-teaching staff should take these programmes
in the positive sense. The Academy, he said, should provide a platform for
the non-teaching staff to exchange thoughts & ideas.

The College has implemented many schemes & programs which help
the students to get acquainted and friendly with the Campus and its
atmosphere. These schemes & programs have a very good impact in
developing a campus-culture, which promotes unity, equality and a sense of
belonging amongst the students. Following are few facts which need a
mention here, as they not only form the “image” of the College but also help
to improve it.
Single-window system for the Admission Process :-
The College has implemented ‘single-window’ system for the
Admission process to avoid undue hither-thither running of the parents’ and
the students. Accordingly, at the time of admission, availability of the
application form, its checking, bank-officer to receive the fees, all these
admission related processes are completed under one roof, at one window
only. Similarly, teachers guide and counsel the students as regards to the
career choice as well.
Anti Female Foetcide Awareness Movement :-
The Adult & continuous Education Dept. of our University selected our
campus to commence its ‘Anti Female Foeticide Abhiyan’ on 9th July 2011.
Programs like Street-plays, songs, slogans, poster exhibition, were arranged
to create an awareness amongst the people about a girl’s importance in the
Society. The District Civil Surgeon Dr. S.G. Rathod & Principal R.D.
Waykole, the Honorary Secretary of the Lewa Educational Union were the
chief guests for the inaugural ceremony, Principal Dr. S.S. Rane, NMU
Management Council Members Dr. Gaur Rane & Mr. Vishnu Bhangale were
the Guests of Honour on this occasion.
Beauty Therapy and D.T.P. Workshop :-
On 2nd August 2011, a workshop on Beauty Therapy & D.T.P.
was organized by the N.S.S. Unit in collaboration with District Sports Officer,
Jalgaon. Mrs. Anita Pravin Tayade delivered a lecture on Beauty
consciousness while Mr. Uday Ingale guided on the D.T.P. Workshop was
organized under the Vocationalisational of Education Training Program.

Felicitation of Mothers:-
On 15th August 2011, the College saluted the Mothers who took care
of their homes, families even in the adverse conditions and fought way out of
the darkness that tried to engulf them. In the program ‘Yethe Kar Maze Julti’
(I Bow Here) was organized to honour & felicitate mothers like Lata
Sudhakar Bhole, Sumitra Supadu Patil, Chhaya Vasudeo Bhole, Vimal Wani
(Mhasawad) for their courageous fight against all odds and prove their metal
in paving the path for their next generation. Shri. P.R. Patil, who is voluntarily
serving to uplift the Tribal Women, was also honoured & felicitated on this
occasion.
Organization of Roza Iftar Party :-
On 25th August 2011, in the Holy month of Ramzan, the students &
teachers of our College organized a Roza Iftar Party for the Muslim students.
Shabana Jamil Shaikh, the HeadMistress of the Anjuman Shah Biradari
Highschool explained the meaning of ‘Roza’. She said that ‘Roza’ does not
mean only ‘keeping a fast’, it means ‘affinity’ and ‘co-operation’. Dr. S.S.
Rane presided over the function. Mr. Farukh Shaikh, the President of the
Maniyar Biradari was the Chief Guest. The programme exhibited an easy
way for national integration.
‘Wacha Charitra Ek Tari’ ( Read at least a Biography) :-
The College has an innovative activity – ‘Wacha Charitra Ek Tari’. It
aims at convincing the students to read at least one Biography or an
Autobiography, so that they must have an inspiration to build their careers on
the lines of the great lives / personalities of the past.
The College library has provided a list of about 250 biographies &
autobiographies, which has been published in the student- diary and on the
website of the College. Other titles are also made available in the Library, on
demand. The students, further have to prepare the review of the biography /
autobiography they have read. The teachers evaluate the reviews and the
best ones are to be compiled in a volume. Prof. Dr. Shankar Puntambekar, a
great Hindi Critic inaugurated this activity.

‘Bahinabai to Pratibhatai Rally’ :-
On the Republic Day of 2012, a grand rally named, ‘A Voyage of
Woman Empowerment – Bahinabai to Pratibhatai’ was organized after flag-
hoi station. The N.S.S. Volunteers, N.C.C. Unit, Life Long Education Unit,
Students from N.V. Mulinche Vikas Vidyalaya along with teachers
participated in the Rally. The ox-driven cart owner Mr. Vitthal Pethe, the
other farmers Pramod Kolhe, Pramod Nemade, Yuvaraj Kolhe and Morsing
Chavan were felicitated for their contribution in making the rally a grand
success. The Rally exhibited Nationalism and a firm belief in the Woman
Empowerment through education. Bahinabai was illiterate, living in a village,
but became famous as a great Marathi Poetess. Pratibhatai is educated and
became the President of India. It is the change of social attitude to women,
which has brought this sea-change. But it has a long history of women’s
sufferings & tolerance. It is an ‘evolution and not revolution’ that Indian
womanhood has brought in. this theme of the Rally attracted the public, only
to awaken them to fight against social evils like dowry, woman foeticide,
denying education to a girl-child, bonded labour etc.
Rs. 01/- for the Poor and Needy Students
The College runs ‘Rs.01/- for the Poor and Needy Students Scheme’
to raise funds for the economically challenged students in the staff room and
library, collection boxes are kept with an appeal for the students to drop at
least Rs. One every week. The novel scheme has been implemented on the
line of ‘Paisa Fund’ run by Karmveer Bhausaheb Patil to help the spread of
education in all the strata of the society.
All such innovative activities have stirred the College Campus into a
Heart that throbs to live life fully and comprehensively.

Explain the plans of the institution for the next year :
In its meeting held on 5th May 2012, the I.Q.A.C. reviewed the
infrastructure developments and the achievements in the academic,
co-curricular, extra curricular and sports field. Expressing overall satisfaction
for the developments and achievements of the College and the other
stakeholders, following concrete plan for the year 2012-13 was suggested
univocally after discussion -
The elevator is to be put to use soon after getting due permission from
the Jalgaon Municipal Corporation.
Installation of Two Generators, each of 125 KVA capacity, is to be
completed to meet electricity demand of the Campus.
More stress to be given on research orientation of students and
teachers.
The Certification under ISO 9001:2008 is to be achieved.
A Functional Women Study Centre is to be pursued.
Conference / Seminars of State / National / International level should be
organized.
Training program for the Non teaching staff to be arranged.
More vocational programs are to be organized along with the YCMOU
modular employable ones.
Evolving consensus with reference to Potential Autonomy for the
College.
Faculty – exchange programs, with like minded colleges, are to be
looked after.
Students exchange programs are to be organized.
