    The conch fritters are the best

    I've ever had, but everything I've

    had from the menu is outstand-ing. Excellent food, well pre-

    vice & an array of juices that's

    wonderfully flaky on the outside

    & perfectly seasoned within. The

    Conch Fritters were, by far, the

    best we've ever had. The menu is

    filled with incredibly flavored

    dishes such as, Jerk Chicken,

    Curried Goat, Curried Shrimp, Ox

    Tails, Stuffed Roti, Pineapple

    Chicken & more. Do not pass up

    on the fresh juices. Of the ones

    we tried so far (Ginger Beer, Pine-

    apple Mango, Carrot w/Spices, &

    Pineapple Ginger) were so excel-

    lent that we opted to take a few

    this new location wasknown as Baptist Taber-nacle, and the congrega-

    tion worshipped here untilthey moved in 1924 totheir present location(corner of East Point Street

    and Thompson Avenue). Atsome point, the BaptistTabernacle was takendown and in its place wasbuilt a gas station. It re-mained a gas station dur-ing the 30s, 40s, and 50suntil the First Federal Sav-ings and Loan Associationacquired the property in

    During the Civil War, thesoutheast corner of EastPoint Street and W. Cleve-land Avenue stood be-

    tween a canon fort to thewest (where City Hall nowstands) and trenches to

    the east (dug along MainStreet). Now it is home toa four-story low rise build-ing --- the East PointTower. Since the earlydays of East Point, this

    corner lot has changedhands many times. An1892 map indicates that

    this lot was part of theholdings of Capt. A.J. Lyle.Capt. Lyle was EastPoints first grocer. Heeventually went into thebusiness of real estate.Around 1907, First Bap-
