Downloading, Installing, and Configuring LMTools (LicenseManager)

Once a Networked License has been purchased it will require a Networked License Manager (LMTools) todistribute licenses.

1. Browse to and download the appropriate LMTools for your server:LMTools IPv6 (32-bit/64-bit)http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=DL10976858LMTools IPv4 (32-bit/64-bit)http://usa.autodesk.com/getdoc/id=DL16273699

2. Once you have downloaded the software you will need to install it on the server.3. Run the nlm<version_ip_os>.exe file.4. You will be prompted to extract the files.5. Select Browse and save the files to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Autodesk Network License Manager*Note: If you do not have the above location then please create it.

6. Once the files have been extracted you can configure LMTools (License Manager).7. Browse to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Autodesk Network License Manager and open LMTools

8. Once you are in LMTools select the Config Services tab.

9. In the Config Services tab browse to the lmgrd.exe and the license file.*Note: The lmgrd.exe will be located where LMTools is stored. The license file you will need to createor have Advanced Solutions support create it for you. Debug file is not necessary as it is stored inLMTools.

10. Once you have browsed to and filled in the lmgrd.exe and license file you will need to make sure that‘Use Services’ and ‘Start Server at Power Up’ are checked.

11. Once they are checked you can select Save Service.

12. Now that you are finished configuring LMTools (License Manager) you can select the

Start/Stop/Reread tab.

13. In the Start/Stop/Reread tab select Start Server.14. You should see the path and name of the license file being used at the bottom.

15. Once the Server has started select the Server Status tab.

16. In the Server Status tab select Perform Status Inquiry.*Note: If you have already ran an inquiry you can clear the window by selecting Edit > Clear Window.

17. In the Status Inquiry window you can see;Which license file is being usedWhat version license manager you are runningWhich programs are in the license fileHow many seats are checked out and/or availableWhich users have which seats checked out

At this point the License Manager is installed and configured. You should be able to open the software on auser’s machine and obtain a license.

I have Autodesk Inventor Pro 2013 currently licensed on a server. I need to load Inventor 2014 onanother lab. I would like to use the same flexx server. How can I have both license files loaded onone server?
