Sergio R. Reyes is a native of Guatemala City. He came to New York City in 1993, after graduating from Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan. Here, he studied violin and composition at the Manhattan School of Music and at the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music. He works as a performer and music consultant for Horizon Concerts, a non-profit foundation that sponsors free classical music concerts throughout the metropolitan area. He has performed in Forever Tango on Broadway and Tango: Historias Breves at NYU, as well as with the Eternal Tango Orchestra, X-Tango, and other groups. He has shared the stage with world famous mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stade and renowned bandoneonists Héctor del Curto and Tito Castro, among others.

Argentine pianist Emilio Teubal has lived in New York since 1999. He has studied jazz performance, composition, and arranging at the City College of New York. He has played with renowned artists John Benitez, Bob Mover, Daniel Binelli, Héctor del Curto, Yosvany Terry, Lucia Pulido, and Raul Jaurena, just to name a few. He performed in the LA tango show Al Corazon del Tango with the Lisandro Adrover quintet featuring violinist Miguel Bertero. He was awarded the prestigious Van Lier Fellowship in 2007 from Meet the Composers. He has also been a member of many NYC based groups including the Marta Gomez Quintet, Sebastian Cruz’s Coba, and Los Chantas Tango group. He composes, arranges, and plays piano in his own Argentine Jazz group, La Balteuband, with whom he performs regularly in the New York area.

Since relocating to New York in 2001, bandoneonist David Hodges has focused on performing, composing, and arranging tango music within the vibrant New York City tango scene. He has performed with Héctor Del Curto’s Eternal Tango Orchestra, Dock Sud, Tangata, Los Changos Septet, Tango Conspiracy, Los Acustilocos, among other groups. He performed With the Eternal Tango Orchestra in “Tango: Historias Breves” at NYU and at Lincoln Center’s Midsummernight’s Swing; with Tangata at the Chicago’s SummerDance Festival; andwith Argentine tenor Gaston Rivero at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall; and has appeared at numerous tango festivals around the US as well. He was featured with the Manhattan School of Music Jazz Philharmonic in the premiere of “Astor Square” by Brazilian composer Felipe Salles. He may be heard on a variety of recordings, including the soundtrack to the film “American Carny” and in the tango-electronica track “Ta Tuado” (“Beginner’s Guide to Tango Lounge,” Nascente, 2007). He recorded live in Seoul, Korea with Cantonese singer Hacken Lee on the CD/DVD “Concert Hall II” (Universal Music, 2006) and performed concerts with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and Taiwanese vocalist Jeff Chang at the Hong Kong Coliseum (EastAsia DVD, 2006), where he debuted his original composition, “Hong Kong Porteño.”

Originally from Córdoba Argentina, Pedro Giraudo moved to New York City in 1996, where he has since made a name as a highly versatile bassist, composer and arranger, performing in projects including his own award-winning Pedro Giraudo Jazz Orchestra as well as many other prominent ensembles across the musical spectrum. He has collaborated with Pablo Ziegler, Paquito D’Rivera, Ruben Blades, William Cepeda, Branford Marsalis, Kenny Garret, Regina Carter, Nestor Torres, Miguel Zenon, and others. He has also perfomed with New York’s most prominent tango ensembles including Hector Del Curto’s Eternal Tango, Fernando Otero’s X-Tango, and Daniel Binelli’s Tango Metropolis. He has participated in numerous jazz and music festivals throughout the North America, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia, and can be heard on recordings on labels including Sony, Nonesuch, Naxos and Harmonia Mundi, and on movie soundtracks including Oliver Stone’s ‘Wall Street II.’ He is also the principal bassist of the Hudson Symphony Orchestra and the Música de Cámara String Ensemble.
