Enjoy an evening under the stars at the Montana Drive-In in Estill Springs or visit the Railroad Museum in Cowan. You’ll find history preserved in GILES COUNTY where in the late 1800s, freed slave Matt Gardner purchased part of his former owner’s Elkton land to build a farm and start one of the first African-American schools in the area; his homestead is now a museum. Pulaski commemorates the struggles of the Cherokee people at the new Trail of Tears Interpretive Center. Enjoy a wagon ride, shop for handmade items and stock up on farm fresh and canned veggies. It’s also the site of the state’s last Civil War skirmish — the Battle of Sugar Creek — fought in Appleton and Lawrenceburg, recognized as the “Birthplace of Southern Gospel Music.” Heritage-rich LEWIS COUNTY is a thriving spot for businesses but it’s not all work here. Hohenwald is full of natural beauty and a great place to relax. Come for a day, stay for a lifetime. Step back in time in LINCOLN COUNTY during the Annual Host of Christmas Past held the 2nd weekend in November. Visit the charming Fayetteville Square and its famous stores featured in Southern Living magazine and on prime time talk shows. You may know MARSHALL COUNTY for its Goats, Music & More Festival and Lions SuperPull of the South event. It’s also home to Civil War sites including the Chapel Hill birthplace of General Nathan Bedford Forrest and Henry Horton State Park offering lodging, dining, golf and more. Also rich in Civil War history, MAURY COUNTY is considered “Antebellum Homes Capital of Tennessee.” It boasts a magnificently restored courthouse; a bustling town square with unique shops, antique stores and restaurants; and the President James K. Polk Ancestral Home & Presidential Hall. MOORE COUNTY isn’t just a place you “pass through” on your way to somewhere else, it’s a destination in itself. Besides the beauty of our countryside, the splendor of our seasons and the warmth of our people, here are some unique things about our counties, cities and towns:

Follow the winding roads in BEDFORD COUNTY to Bell Buckle and its R.C. & MoonPie Festival; Wartrace, home of the Wartrace MusicFest and new TN Walking Horse National Museum; and Shelbyville, where you can enjoy 11 days at the TN Walking Horse National Celebration.

Experience COFFEE COUNTY’s unique blend of small town hospitality and big city sophistication. Manchester and Tullahoma are great places to live, work, raise a family, and retire. Every June, the pristine countryside comes alive during the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.

Make your way to FRANKLIN COUNTY and one of the most accommodating parks in Tennessee — Tims Ford State Park — with 2,200 acres of family fun including lake recreation, golf, and bike and hiking trails.

Get outdoors in HICKMAN COUNTY, filled with over-looks, cool waterfalls, fields and forests, all easily viewed from your car, bus, motorcycle, boat, bicycle, or hiking boots. Don’t miss the Banana Pudding Festival in October for the best pudding you’ll ever taste.

Did you know LAWRENCE COUNTY is home to over 300 Old Order Amish families? Enjoy a wagon ride, shop for handmade items and stock up on farm fresh and canned veggies. It’s also the site of the state’s last Civil War skirmish — the Battle of Sugar Creek — fought in Appleton and Lawrenceburg, recognized as the “Birthplace of Southern Gospel Music.”

Heritage-rich LEWIS COUNTY is a thriving spot for businesses but it’s not all work here.

Tiny Lynchburg is home to one-of-a-kind stores, small town restaurants and an internationally loved brand you may have heard of...Jack Daniel’s.

Experience nature at its best in PERRY COUNTY. Water recreation is the highlight as the Buffalo, a State Scenic River and the Tennessee River both flow through the area.

Wildlife awaits in WAYNE COUNTY where you’ll fi nd woods, water and natural beauty in abundance. Tennessee’s second largest county is also a great place to dine at a family-owned restaurant, seek out Civil War history and boat or camp at Clifton Marina.

Come Explore the Jack GeoCache Tour.

We have put together something newfor all you adventurers out there. It is called the Jack Geo-Tour. GeoTours are a series of geocachers engag-

ingly tied together by a common theme, such as the Jack Trail with history, out-door beauty,

etc. There is not a fixed itinerary like a traditional trail, but rather a series of caches hidden at different points of interest in a self-guided, goal oriented plan. We have several specific caches on wour tour and when you find a cer-

tain amount of them you receive a free Jack GeoTour coin. All of the GPS locations are available on the www. geocaching.com website under the Jack GeoTour. You can print out a passport from www.sctta.net/geocaching and as you find the special geocache locations on our tour you put the secret code

you find in each box on your passport. You also go online and record each cache thatnd record each cache that you find. We encourage you to eat atour restaurants and stay at our hotels on the tour for extra points. Whenyou reach a certain amount of points send your passport in for your freecoin. It’s that simple and fun for the entire family.

You can find additional information on each of our Jack GeoTour partners at www.sctta.net. We also have a
