Double page spread research

The double page spread is key to a magazine. They give the magazines a chance to vary their article sizes and give the opportunity for a more in depth interview with the artist. most double page spreads use the extra room for a larger image and title for the article. The Image sometimes gives the reader a clue to what the artist is, maybe it will shock the reader, or sometimes an image is used just to attract the reader to the artist. The text obviously is important, but it seems to me that the image is key to the page. Obtaining the right image could make for a professional looking, successful double page spread.

I really like this double page spread. The title is news paper writing and says what the artist should is in the news and she is of importance. The title is also a pull quote and this is common to do on a double page spread as it instantly pulls the reader in. The black and white colour scheme shows a retro and stylish theme.The text raps around the image which is a common convention of double page spreads.

This is a very classy double page spread. Again a large image of used with the text of the recto side of the page. The black and white image shows a sense of fashion and glamour, but also suggest a vintage, classy look to the photo.On the opposite side the L in the red is really effective. The font in the red looks very classy. The red shows a sense of passion and love.
