The headline of this double page spread is quite different to the normal headlines of double page spreads as this one is only a name. It says the name ‘Jamelia’ in all lower case letters which indicates the article is going to be about the famous singer. It is then backed up from the subhead which is surprisingly above the headline and is in all capital letters (upper case). The headline also doesn’t have a colour, it is clear which makes it transparent so the colours of the sub image are shown through the text. This is also an unusual effect which makes the headline stand out more and grabs the readers attention. Furthermore the sub image is on the left hand page which means it shows before the main image which again is an unusual design. This whole part of the double page spread is sectioned from the rest of the double page spread with a thin white rectangle underneath it.

This is the lower part of the first page of the double page spread. It contains the first part of the main body text for the double page spread which is an article interviewing the singer Jamelia. It starts with a small paragraph explaining why they decided to interview Jamelia which gives the audience a greater insight as to why they interviewed the singer and what she has been doing. The interview varies between two colours, orange for the questions (which contrasts with the orange Jamelia is wearing shown through the headline) and white for the answers which separates the two making it easier on the eyes to read and makes sure the audience don’t get confused when reading the article. They’ve clearly used two columns which separates the text and makes the page organised.

Opening Paragraph Question

This is the pull quote use on the magazine. It’s in the middle of the page and in-between the two sections of the interview which allows the reader to take a break from the interview and read something the artist has said which makes sure they don’t get bored when reading the article. It says the word ‘SING!’ above the quote which pulls the reader in to read the quote. When flicking through a magazine quickly, it is likely the reader will read the pull quote as it is a small part of the double page spread that links with the article, so putting it in the middle makes it easier to find and read.

This is the main part of the 2nd page of the double page spread. It includes the other part of the main body text which is separate from the rest of the page in a transparent rectangle which comes in the place of a column. It follows the same colour scheme as the other part of the main body text. It is in a transparent column which adds organisation to the page.
