1. Encounters of Crans-‐Montana The « Freedom encounters » are the first international event organized by the new Foundation of the “Encounters of Crans-‐Montana”. They have put together a set of themes based on the different categories of freedom in the world, associated with the barriers they face in pursuing them. These sets of events will take place from July 22 until October 2 within the mountain resort. One of the highlights will be a unique exhibit, which will take place within the indicated dates at the Pierre Arnaud Foundation. This exhibit will be called “Artists for Freedom –Berlin Wall”. This exhibit focused on 48 concrete pieces, which were part of the Berlin Wall. World-‐class recognized artists painted them. They belong to the Collection Emmanuelle and Michael Guttman, Brussels. The 2016 summer “Freedom Encounters” will highlight the following points: -‐ The privileged geographical location of the Lens museum which interacts with nature and mountains while benefiting from the latest environmental technologies et renewable energy. This location works for people by delivering the best European “Air Quality Index” (AQI). -‐ The Vision Art Festival, which is a mountain open sky museum with an interactive vision of the convergence between “street art”, “land art”, paintings, sculpture, photography, video and music. It is all about transforming the concrete walls into painted work of art. It makes Crans-‐Montana an international contemporary art mountain capital for the coming years. -‐ The links between generations with the support of a concert called “Tribute to Pink Floyd”, which is a timeless kind of music. This concert will be located into the Congress Centre “Le Regent” -‐ A peaceful cohabitation between origins of populations with the example of a mountain resort where different world cultures are mixing between each other in an harmonious way of living together 2. Exhibition The Collection Emmanuelle and Michael Guttman, Brussels, contains 48 fragments of the Berlin Wall, destroyed in 1989. Forty-‐eight international artists celebrated this symbol of freedom and democracy leaving their artistic testimonies on these concrete pieces of 120 x 100 cm. Sent to Lens from Pietrasanta (Tuscany), they will remain for more than two months at the Foundation Pierre Arnaud, from 22 July to 2 October 2016. 3. Biography Floyd Machine: Floyd Machine started off as friends’ initiative to form a Pink Floyd Tribute Band for a one-‐time occasion for friends and acquaintances in 1999. Because of the great response of the audience, they decided to continue on professional base very soon after. In the following years they continued to improve the show, finding vintage instruments, adding video, light and technical effects to be able to present a complete show that sounds exactly as the memorable one of the original band Pink Floyd. In fact, Nick Mason and Snowy White congratulated Floyd Machine with the achieved result and Roger Waters, whom they later personally met, confirmed the artistic quality of the band. The passion that unites the group is the inexhaustible driving force of an immortal music project. In every concert performed by Floyd Machine the many nostalgic music lovers enjoy an unforgettable evening. Most of their events are sold out and received by enthusiastic audiences. The Floyd Machine consist of: Flavio Camorani (drum), Alberto Volpi (bass-‐Fender and vocals), Paolo Bonori (hammond, synthesizer), Filippo Salomoni (guitar-‐Stratocaster and voice), Giorgio Leandri (guitar-‐ Fender Stratocaster and Telecaster), Lorenzo Lucchi (piano), James Vallicelli (guitar-‐Fender Stratocaster, voice and background vocals), Anna Monterisi (saxophone and background vocals), Valentina Cacciaguerra (voice and background vocals), Valentina Cortesi (background vocals), Michela Taioli (video technician and Management), Andrea Amico and Fabio Clementi (sound engineer) Aldo Visentin (light-‐designer) www.floydmachine.it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3BPXN3dKl8
