River- head, was the scene of the 4 p.m. wedding of Sharon Tracy Cushman to Gregory Paul Doroski August 15. Reverend Julian P. Wenda, per- formed the ceremony. The bride's Victorian gown of Italian silk fabric, had a wedding ring collar, bishop sleeves, empire’ waist, with a full A-line skirt and an attached train. The gown was ac- cented with cluny lace and seed pearls. Her headpiece, camelot style, connected the two tier veil and the detachable long mantilla, edged in lace. On her bible, the bride carried a bouquet of white orchids, stephanot- is and baby’s-breath. Her attendants carried white wicker baskets filled with rainbow colored daisy mums and baby’s breath. The bride’s cousin, Pamela Lyndes, Barre, Vermont, was her maid of honor. Other attendents included Karen Cushman, Lisa Faist, Debbie Champouillan, Donna Hildreth, Mary Doroski and flower girl Melinda Young. The groom’s brother, John Doro- ski, Middletown, Connecticut, was best man. Ushers included Michael Doroski, Steve Styss, John Cushman II, Neil Elliot, Howard Alexander and David Cushman, ring bearer. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Cushman of River- head. A graduate of Suffolk Com- munity College with an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science, she is presently employed by Mallinckrodt Chemical Works in Carlstadt, New Jersey. The groom, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Walter Doroski of Aquebogue, is a graduate of Farleigh Dickinson Uni- versity, with a B.S. in Biology; He is presently attending the Farleigh Dickinson University School of Dent- istry. Immediately following the cere- mony, a reception was held at the Riverhead Polish Independent Club in Riverhead. After a wedding trip to Wood- stock. Vermont, the couple moved into their home in Garfield, New Jersey. I think they were afraid I was a private detective taking notes about them or some- thing” . After an hour and a half, she continued to walk around the gallery, picking up a picture here and there and saying ”oh yes. and look at this one” as if she hadn’t done it herself . but just happened to find it sitting there. You begin to understand how she has gone this far with painting. Mrs. Schlecht has a clear sense of direction in everything she does, but after 15 years, is as lighthearted about it all as she is serious and is siill totally capable of surprising herself, as well as the people who come in to look at her paintings.
