THE TCS IP-GATEWAY BASIC FOR THE SINGLE-FAMILY HOME Cost-effective integration of TCS:BUS systems into the IP network

Installed in the control cabinet, the new IP-Gateway converts the signals of the TCS:BUS to the internet protocol (IP). The door communication is extended for mobile applications by using the TCS:App* or TCS:Softphone. For this an existing network in-frastructure (Wifi) is used. Thus, the installer can offer to his customers an improved comfort for an absolutely manageable investment.

Up to 4 bell buttons of the IP video front-door station can be integrated directly into an already existing IP network structure. The TCS IP front-door stations are connected through RJ45-connector. The power supply may be through PoE or over a sepe-rate DC power supply. A dedicated network infrastructure for door communication is not required. Compatible with any SIP-compliant IP phone, TCS offers a high-performance solution for IP door communication. By using the TCS:App* mobile devices or PCs can be converted into extensions of your door communication.

*With the TCS:App for iOS and Android devices door communication can be operated within the Wifi and even beyond. The proper functioning of the TCS:App depends on the network infrastructure and its proper configuration. The correct allocation of IP addresses, a proper routing or adequately configured firewall, sufficient bandwidth and a sufficient Wifi signal level within the desired operating range are required. The TCS:App is an extension of the control options of door communication. Furthermore, the TCS:App depends on updates of the operating systems, which can impede the proper functioning of the TCS:App. Therefore, it is recommended to include stationary indoor stations for backup.

The new TCS IP-Gateway offers wide-ranging compatibility and easy integration into the IP network. Without any structural alterations it is possible to integrate existing TCS:BUS systems into the IP network. After the installation in the control cabinet the IP-Gateway can be connected to the TCS:BUS and the network. For an even easier commissioning the IP-Gateway can be delivered pre-configured ex works.

The TCS IP video front-door station AVU9 is connected directly to the ethernet network without using any interface. Thus, it can only be installed when a network connection in the entrance area is available. Therefore, this application is particularly recommended for new buildings. The TCS IP front-door station may be connected to any IP indoor station or PC (with e.g. TCS:Softphone) via LAN. By using the TCS:App* door communication within Wifi is extended to mobile end devices.

THE TCS IP-GATEWAY BASIC FOR FUNCTIONAL BUILDINGS Mobile extension of door communication for offices, multi-family homes and public buildings

Door communication can now also be operated in offices – conveniently at the PC, with IP telephones or with the TCS:App* on mobile end devices. Already existing TCS:BUS installations may be extended by an IP-Gateway in the control cabi-net. The Gateway converts the signals of the TCS:BUS to the internet protocol IP. Thus, door communication can be ope-rated with existing mobile devices at absolutely manageable investments. This solution offers more flexibility and comfort – not only in offices.

Especially in functional buildings, IP networks are often available and several services share their capacities. Ressources can be saved by including also door communication in the IP network. Last but not least, the customer benefits from increase in flexibility and lower maintenance costs. If a network cable is available in the entrance area, a TCS IP station can replace any existing TCS:BUS front-door station. In new buildings a suitable network connection can be foreseen with ease. The IP front-door station Carus ARGOS can call up to 100 call destinations via call selection at the touchscreen. The door call is received by an IP indoor station, such as the IP indoor station Carus TAVOLA and can simultaneously be used with the TCS:App* on tablets, Smartphones and on PC. Thus, the operation of door communication in offices is much more flexible and saves precious time.

The TCS IP-Gateway can be easily integrated into existing TCS:BUS systems in any building. It converts the signals of the TCS:BUS to the internet protocol (IP). Thus, door communication can be controlled comfortably through an IP indoor station, tablets, Smartphones or the PC. This requires an existing network infrastructure. The TCS IP-Gateway BASIC can call up to 10 call destinations within the network. If several TCS:BUS systems are installed, it is possible to connect further TCS IP-Gateways BASIC or use TCS IP-Gateway ADVANCED or SYSTEM, which extend the number of users.
