2 TASTE OF HUDSON 2018
WELCOME TO THE 13TH ANNUAL TASTE OF HUDSON!On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Organizing Committee, we invite you to join us for the Taste of Hudson this Labor Day Weekend.
We are excited to continue the tradition of showcasing our fine chefs, live music on multiple stages, endless children’s activities and entertainment for all ages, as well as our great city, at one of Northeast Ohio’s premier festivals.
Located in the heart of downtown at Routes 303 and 91 and throughout First & Main, the Taste of Hudson takes place on Sunday, September 2 from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., with a special concert series in the Hudson’s Restaurant & Catering Wine & Beer Garden until 11:00 p.m., and Monday, September 3 from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Presented by Akron Children’s Hospital and the Mawaka Foundation with support from Kaulig Companies, Burton D. Morgan Foundation and PPG, the Taste of Hudson features many of the perennial favorites, several new features and of course a dash of Hudson hospitality and the charm of historic downtown Hudson.
HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:• Non-stop activities for all ages on the Akron Children’s Hospital Activities Green• Delicious “tastes” on the Culinary Green powered by Velocity Broadband• A variety of exhibitors and artists within the Exhibitor Way and Artists Vineyard• Wine, beer and food with live entertainment in the Hudson’s Restaurant & Catering Wine & Beer Garden
To date, the Taste of Hudson has raised over $397,000 for charitable organizations including Akron Children’s Hospital’s School Health Services and many Hudson based non-profit organizations. We are grateful for the continued support of our sponsors, restaurants, exhibitors, artists, business partners and the hundreds of volunteers that allow us to create a one-of-a-kind festival each and every year.
We look forward to sharing the Taste with each of you in the community this weekend and thank you for your support.

4 TASTE OF HUDSON 2018
Welcome to Taste of Hudson. Akron Children’s Hospital is pleased to continue sponsoring this wonderful festival. Together with the event organizers, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all the volunteers, artists, vendors and organizations that make this community celebration such a success.
Akron Children’s has been caring for the children of our community since 1890. While we have grown tremendously since then, one thing has remained constant – our promise to treat every child as we would our own. We specialize in one
thing – kids – and here in Hudson, our pediatricians, specialists, athletic trainers and school health providers take care of kids from babies to teenagers.
In Hudson, you can bring your kids for care by our pediatricians, or let us help you with those unexpected bumps, falls or sniffles at our urgent care. You can also receive specialty services in radiology, allergy, ear, nose and throat, orthopedics, sports medicine, rehabilitative services, and plastic and reconstructive surgery. Plus, our school health nurses and athletic trainers care for students and athletes right in Hudson’s schools. We are delighted that proceeds from the festival support Akron Children’s school health and sports medicine programs. We’re working hard to keep kids healthy so they can be in the classroom learning or on the field for the big game.
It’s a privilege to work with so many great people who embrace our hospital’s mission, and we hope everyone enjoys this celebration of food and fun for all ages.
Bill ConsidineChief Executive Officer, Akron Children’s Hospital
WELCOME TO THE 13TH ANNUAL TASTE OF HUDSON!Dear Fellow Hudson Citizens and Visitors: Welcome to the Labor Day Celebration that has become one of Northeast Ohio’s favorite traditions.
I hope you enjoy the fabulous food, great music, special entertainment and friendly atmosphere that are hallmarks of our community and Taste of Hudson. This is a true, community driven celebration organized and conducted entirely by volunteers. It is testament to my description of Hudson as a town of volunteers
who create an unparalleled sense of community. So, when you see a volunteer in their distinctive shirt, let them know how much you enjoy the festivities and how much you appreciate their hard work!
Taste of Hudson is also an opportunity to support worthy causes while having fun. To date it has generated over $397,000 for notable and worthwhile causes in Hudson and across Northeast Ohio. Akron Children’s Hospital, as in past years, is again the featured beneficiary.
While you are downtown, take time to stroll along our downtown streets. Unique and interesting shops await. Enjoy our historic Main Street, beautiful Green and public spaces. They are places that create opportunities for citizens to connect, to meet an old friend or to make a new one and help sustain Hudson’s renowned sense of community.
If you are visiting, I invite you to return for great restaurants, unique shops and a friendly welcome!
With my best personal regards,
Dave BasilMayor, City of Hudson

TASTE OF HUDSON RECYCLING
The Hudson Environmental Awareness Committee, along with Keep America Beautiful, is proud to once again partner with the Taste of Hudson to continue working towards “zero waste” at the festival. All chefs, vendors and Taste of Hudson attendees are encouraged to assist in these efforts while at the Taste.
Plastic bottles, aluminum cans, glass bottles, paper brochures, newspaper, and cardboard can be placed in the designated containers provided throughout the festival grounds. These materials will be collected by AA Sanitation and transported to a Material Recovery Facility in Akron, Ohio. There are volunteer staffed sorting stations located next to the PNC Community Dining Tents on the east and west ends of the Culinary Green. Special thanks to the volunteers and guests for their assistance in keeping Taste of Hudson, and Hudson as a whole “Green.”
