If you are new to Northreach or visiting with us today please join us for a

tea or coffee and chat after the service in our Café. Don’t forget to pick

up an information pack from the foyer which includes a free drink voucher.

Kidsz Church runs during school terms at the same time as the 10.15am

morning service in the Hall, for children aged 1 to grade 7. Programs for

younger children run during both services. Register your child/ren at the

desk inside the door of the Hall.

Youth activities, for young people from grade 7 to 17 years run each

Friday night from 6.30 to 9.30pm during school terms here at Northreach.

The Nursery is located at the back of the Church (behind the glass

window) for feeding mothers. The service is telecast in this room.

Restrooms are located at the back of the Church auditorium. Please note

that the toilets in the Kidsz Hall are for CHILDREN ONLY on Sunday mornings.

You can now view the Northreach Network News on our website. Just go

to www.northreach.org.au and click on the date under the News and

Announcements. As we try to decrease on our paper usage, we

encourage you to read the NNN online and just pick up a paper copy of

the Connection Card available at the table in the foyer for completion on

Sundays.

As we support global missions you are welcome to purchase homemade

jams, relishes and chutneys from the Money for Jam shelf in the foyer. All

proceeds go to support Missions.

General Offering and Mission envelopes are available at the Information

Desk together with envelopes to place an order for a CD of the recorded

sermons from today’s Church service and prior services.

We are convinced as a church that God directs and empowers spiritual

growth, but that growth happens through the Holy Spirit when we put in

place healthy structures like Bible reading and study, accountability,

prayer and Christian community. All of these things are enabled and

encouraged in small groups. We encourage you to join a LifeGroup.

Tick the box on the Connection Card or look for the Small Groups list in the

Northreach Network News today.

You are encouraged to join with others for prayer on:

CHURCH WORKING BEE Next Saturday, 25 October, 8am - 12pm

God has blessed us with great facilities and large grounds, all of which need to

be maintained and kept well presented. We have mapped out the range of

tasks that we would like to tackle during the Working Bee. Please read through

the list below and if you are interested in working at a particular task or area,

indicate this on the Connection Card along with any tools or equipment you

can bring.

Working safely at the working bee will be a very high priority

and we will have a safety checklist to be read upon arrival / sign in

as well as a safety briefing during morning tea.

Indoor tasks (Church / Hall complex)

WINDOWS: Not a small job, we will need at least

8 volunteers to split into 2 teams to clean the church and

hall windows. Please bring buckets, window cleaner,

squeegees and gloves if you have them.

Outdoor tasks

TREES will be our main focus: We would like to form 3 teams of at least

3 volunteers. Team leaders are Michael Dickson, Russell Hosking and Neil

Cameron. We need people to assist with cutting down and lopping trees

across the property, carting to the waste area and cleaning up.

ROOF GUTTERS: Hall and Church gutters—clean and remove rubbish

PLAYGROUND: Weeding and tidy up

CONTAINER: Tidy up and remove rubbish.

Please bring wheelbarrows, rakes and all items to assist with these jobs.

YOU MUST HAVE ENCLOSED FOOTWEAR (no sandals or thongs),

long sleeved shirt, hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, drinking water,

gloves. Morning tea will be provided.

Don’t leave it to someone else...WE NEED LOTS OF VOLUNTEERS!

Please RSVP by ticking the box on the Connection Card today or

contact Ian Stephens in the Church office on 4723 2371for more information.

MISSIONS - Prayer session for unreached people groups

Sunday 26 October, 3.00pm to 5.00pm

Northreach Café

The world's population is currently 7.2 billion. Many of these

people have never heard the great news of the gospel of

Jesus. They are unreached. They live in many different

countries, but the picture is more complicated than that,

because there are far more people groups – different in

ethnicity and language – than there are countries.

You may never go to work with one of these unreached groups but you can still

answer Christ’s call to make a difference in their lives.

Join others in our church in prayer for the unreached people of the world in

one special afternoon session.

PASTORAL CARE

A great Pastoral Care and Mission opportunity

Imagine being able to encourage, pray and share a Bible reading with

complete strangers in their time of need. Every week of the year patients at

The Townsville Hospital invite us to do just that.

Jeff Godwell has been leading our hospital chaplaincy

team for a number of years and has had countless

opportunities to bless the sick and dying with the love of

God.

We are looking for people who can spare a minimum

half day a week to share in and help grow this amazing

ministry. You don’t need to have prior experience.

Pastor Ian and Jeff will provide some basic training and

support you on location.

Speak to Ian in the church office on 4723 2371 or mobile on 0422 093 370 if you

have questions or would like to see if this ministry suits your gifting and life

experience.

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved

you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that

you are my disciples, if you love one another. John 13: 34-35 NIV

Prayer & Praise Lift Northreach Baptist to the Lord and

pray for His guidance and provision for

all His plans for the church during this

time of transition. Pray for the unity

and love of Christ to be the hallmark

of our fellowship. Ask God to help us to

be a people led by the Holy Spirit.

Praise and thank God that He hears

and answers our prayers.

Ask the Lord to give us a heart for

people who don’t know Him. May we

know the joy of seeing more people

handing their broken lives to God and

seeing Him transform them. May the

Lord show us the people He wants us

to minister to.

Pray for our relationships with family

and friends, that we will live our lives,

displaying the fruit of the Spirit: love,

peace, faithfulness, joy, goodness,

gentleness, patience, self-control and

kindness.

Pray for clear guidance for those who

are seeking God’s direction for their

work situations.

Pray for those studying at Uni or Bible

College, asking God for clear minds

and good outcomes.

Praise God with Gem Jewell for her

continued healing.

Pray for those who are feeling

constant spiritual attacks from the evil

one on their families.

Ask God to bring comfort to John as

he journeys through the stages of

dementia.

Continue to pray for the Pastoral

Search Team as they work together to

bring a recommendation to the

members.
