DONN WEINHOLTZ

Donn Weinholtz is dean of the College of Education, Nursing, and Health Professions at the University of Hartford. He formerly was on the faculty of East Tennessee State University's College of Medi- cine. Prior to Tennessee, Weinholtz served on the faculty of the University of Iowa's College of Education in the Instructional De- sign and Technology Program. At Iowa, Weinholtz was actively in- volved in the College of Education's Holmes Group efforts at restructuring the teacher education program. He also served as the college's liaison with the Coalition of Essential Schmls and with Cedar Rapids Metro High School, the subject of this fastback.

Weinholtz received his B.A. in history from Dickinson College and his master's in social studies education from Shippenshurg Universi- ty. He taught American history and social psychology at Chapel Hill High School before completing his Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina in the School of Education's Division of Organizational De- velopment and Institutional Studies.

Weinholtz publishes regularly on instructional design, qualitative research, and health professions education topics. He is currently the editor of Professions Education Researcher Quarterly for Division I of the American Educational Research Association.
