Interview findingsAccording to Ms Jaime, the school counsellor,

age might influence how users use Facebook and the way users think of Facebook

For example, the younger generation might create a Facebook account just because they want to fit in with others

The older generation, who did not have Facebook in their time, feel curious about what it is and therefore want to create a Facebook account

Page 13: Done by: Jasdeep Singh Hundal (11) Jatinder Singh Kler(12) Khoo Jingren, Forster(13) Lee Ting Yen(14) Leon Chin Li Xiang (15)

Interview findingsMs Jaime, who belongs to the older generation,

feels that Facebook has both positive and negative impacts on her

Positive: she was able to find her old friends on Facebook

Negative: sometimes she wasted a lot of time on Facebook doing useless things like poking, thus she wasted a lot of time

Also, she felt tired after that and thus did not want to do any work, therefore wasting the rest of the day

Conclusion

A user’s level of education does not affect the number of hours he or she spends on Facebook

Spending a lot of time on Facebook does not necessarily mean addiction to Facebook

When you think of Facebook even when you are offline, this will decrease the physical interaction with friends or family and thus affecting the ability to socialise

Page 15: Done by: Jasdeep Singh Hundal (11) Jatinder Singh Kler(12) Khoo Jingren, Forster(13) Lee Ting Yen(14) Leon Chin Li Xiang (15)

ConclusionFacebook might not necessarily affect your social

life negatively, it can affect it positively too, as long as you use it in the right way.

For example: Use Facebook as a learning platform by playing games like pet society, where you learn good life skills on how to care for a pet, responsibility.

• Remind others of important things like homework or announcements or educational websites or interesting quizzes which will benefit all of us

Page 16: Done by: Jasdeep Singh Hundal (11) Jatinder Singh Kler(12) Khoo Jingren, Forster(13) Lee Ting Yen(14) Leon Chin Li Xiang (15)

ConclusionYou can use Facebook and have enough time for

other activities at the same time, as long as you manage your time wisely – have enough time for your studies, work or revison etc.

Although spending a lot of time does not mean addiction to Facebook. And also Facebook is called a social-networking site. Spending too much time on it will also decrease the time spent with family or friends thus affecting the ability to socialise with other people

ConclusionUsing Facebook in a positive way is very

important as1.You do not waste time doing useless things

like poking and then wasting the rest of the day because you feel tired after that

2.You can benefit from it, learning important skills which can be put into real life
