• Contribution are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law

Types of Donations

• Check• Cash• One-Time Online Donation• Recurring Online Donations– Custom – Power of One

Checks• Mail all check

• Include a note listing yourself and all other Ambassadors who should be credited.

• Do not hold onto or stockpile checks– Expiration – Donor

Acknowledgement

Cash Donations• Do not mail cash• Deposit cash in a

personal bank account and write a check for the amount

• Maintain a list of those who donated with either mail or email so acknowledgments can be sent.

• Include a note listing yourself and all other Ambassadors who should be credited.

One-Time Online Donation

• An online donation that does not recur and can be any amount

• Donors will receive a paper acknowledgement and tax receipt through the USPS

• SSL certified website is secure whether accessed through cell phone or computer

• Address must match that on file with donor’s bank

Online Renewing Donation• Renewing donations recur at donor-selected intervals• Two options for Renewing Donations:

– Power of One Campaign– Custom Renewing Donations

• Donors will receive a paper acknowledgement and tax receipt through the USPS for first donation and through email for subsequent

• SSL certified website is secure whether accessed through cell phone or computer

• Donors are able to cancel at any time

Online Renewing Donation:Power of One Campaign

• It costs $15 a month to feed one child for an entire year through our program

• Power of One Campaign– $15 monthly donations– Each monthly donation feeds another

child for a year

Online Renewing Donation:Custom Renewing Donations

• Donor can chose the amount they would like to donate and the number of intervals

• Help them visualize their contribution by giving the number of children that will be served from their donation.

Receiving Credit

• When possible, take down the names of the people you have talked to.

• Remember that when working with other Youth Ambassadors:– Determine together the way that credit for funds

raised will be shared– Your group’s final goal is $1800 x number of Youth

Ambassadors in group

• If you have donations you raised before official start of the program, from tabling, school fundraisers, etc., you may submit it toward your final goal
