PRINCIPAL’S REPORT

Promoting ‘Walk Safely To School Day’ Senior Constable Chris Liplyn and Ms Julie Owens MP, joined PNPS students and their families as we participated in 'Walk Safely To School Day' last week promoting safe pedestrian behaviour as well as the health benefits of walking. Congratulations to our 'Walk Safely To School' poster winners!

Don’t Keep History A Mystery! National Reconciliation Week I was very proud of our students who delivered the key messages about the meaning of Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week. Students will participate in deep learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories.

P & C Bunnings Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser Success A wonderful display of community spirit was demonstrated as the sausages sizzled all day long at Bunnings Warehouse, North Parramatta. A huge thank you to Mr Peter Williams and Mr Jason Harris who coordinated and managed this fabulous event. A special thank you to Mr Ohrynowski, the parent volunteers and to the staff members who supported the event. Thank you to Shatha Mandwi, Sian Noronha, Kalaivani Elilventhan, Sean Curtis, Nagmeh, Nameata and Yannalin who volunteered their time to assist.

School Times

Before School Staff members are rostered on duty from 8:30am. Before that time there is no formal supervision. Students should not arrive at school before that time. If it is absolutely necessary for students to be dropped at school before 8:30 they should go directly to the office. A letter to the principal is required in this instance.

After School Please ensure that students are collected promptly at the end of the school day. If you will be late arriving to collect your child, please telephone the school and let us know. It can be quite worrying, especially for younger students (and their teachers), if you are not there when they expect you. There are no formal provisions for supervision of students after 3:00pm by school staff. Please inform the school of any variations in usual arrangements for students being collected at the end of the day. This is particularly important for students who usually attend after school care and are usually collected by the care centre. Our school’s Before and After School Centre can be contacted by calling 9683 3009. The centre has been assessed as ‘exceeding standards’ under the National Quality Framework. Further information can be located by accessing the link below. http://www.ooshnp.com/#
