STAFF ORIENTATION Staff orientation will take place at the WLV High School
Food Court on Wednesday, August 14, 2019, starting at 8:00 a.m.
PreK: 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Kindergarten – Grade 1: 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Full-day Kindergarten will be offered at Luis E. Armijo and Valley elementaries. Kindergarten students must be five years of age on or before September 1, 2019. Birth certificates and immunization records are required. Elementary Schools (Grades 2-5): 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Middle Schools: 7:55 a.m. to 3:08 p.m. High Schools: 7:55 a.m. to 3:10 p.m.

Parents and students MUST ATTEND a mandatory orientation and student registration meeting at the new WLVMS Gym as listed below:

NEW-Student Registration will be August 12th and 13th. (Only students coming from out of district will be registered on these days.) After orientation, registration and disbursement of student schedules will take place. For students that are enrolled at WLV, registration will take place following orientation.

Elementary Prep Days
Students new to the district must bring their immunization record and birth certificate to registration. Public Education Department regulation and local school board policy require that all students be properly immunized. Homecoming Week Sept. 16-20, 2019 WLV vs. Hatch Valley
West Las Vegas Head Start/Early Head Start Children must be at least three years old on or before September 1, 2019, in order to be considered for participation in Head Start (registration ongoing). Infants/toddlers must be at least 6 weeks old to three years old. An annual application/reapplication is required to determine eligibility. The first day of services for Head Start participants at the West site is Monday, August 26, 2019, and the last day is Tuesday, May 19, 2020. The first day of services for Early Head Start participants was July 22, 2019, and the last day is Wednesday, June 24, 2020. The first day of services for Head Start participants at the Early Childhood Center (ECC) site is Monday, August 26, 2019, and the last day is Tuesday, May 19, 2020. West Las Vegas PreK Program Children must be four years old by September 1, 2019, in order to be considered for participation in the PreK program.
