we design places that build community, contribute to a sustainable world and enrich the individual
The human interface
with the physical
environment is our
primary concern.
Healthcare projects,
more than any other
building type, rely
on the design team
to create a human
connection that
supports the needs
of those who receive
treatment, accompany
loved ones, and work
in the space.
Healthcare at Domokur Architects:
Exceptional Spaces for Exceptional Care
As a client, you rely on us to understand your needs as an
organization, apply your mission to the specific project at
hand and collaborate with your staff to produce a design
solution that is smart, innovative and responsive. We
understand that our work involves seamless integration of
building systems, regulatory compliance and spaces that
put patients at ease both inside and out.
Our team of specialists incorporates planning and
management concepts including Lean Design, evidence-
based solutions and sustainability in the approach to
each project. We work with you to produce a unique
project mission statement that is relevant, fits your goals
as a healthcare provider, and has the buy-in of the entire
project team.
Our staff of in-house architects, healthcare planners,
landscape architects, interior designers and environmental
graphics experts is flexible, efficient and responsive.
We deliver cost effective, creative design solutions that
address your individual needs. You want to provide your
patients with the best possible care, we want to design the
environments that enable that care and promote healing.
Let’s work together to build something exceptional.

Improving outcomes as well as your bottom line
Healthcare projects are huge consumers of energy.
Investments in infrastructure, ongoing maintenance and
operations need to be managed without compromising
performance or reliability. We believe that planning, architecture
and design decisions both inform and are influenced by
big idea concepts for infrastructure and coordinate closely
with our clients and the project engineers from the earliest
stages of a project to get the most comprehensive solution.
Our approach to sustainability analyzes systems and
design strategies. We look beyond first costs and apply
more comprehensive analysis than life cycle costs to get to
something we call the Smart Cycle - where performance,
cost management and sustainable goals intersect.
Sustainable strategies also improve patient outcomes by
improving air quality and bringing natural light, views and
landscaping to the places where they can improve the
experience of staff patients and families. We target specific
delivery of care models, staff retention and patient satisfaction
goals as well as infection control objectives to sustainable
measures, allowing you to evaluate decisions on multiple levels.

Goals
We attempt to understand the functioning of natural systems and minimize our impact on them. As architects, landscape architects and environmental planners, we are uniquely qualified and positioned to affect the regeneration of our built environment. We envision a world where we design for optimal health of all living things.
