Procurement Process
• The Shire operated under a decentralised procurement model
• Procurement is undertaken with the support of the Procurement Officer
• Formal approvals are obtained from Council or under delegated authority
How we procure goods and services
Request for Quotations:
• Less than $15,000 (except if high risk) – 1 quote
• Less than $50,000 (except if high risk) – 2 quotes
• Less than $150,000 – 3 quotes (formal RFQ)
• More than $150,000 (if exempted by Regulations) – 3 quotes (formal RFQ)
Ability to create Shire Panels of Pre-Qualified Suppliers
• permitted by LG Act• will be considered where there is an
ongoing need for a particulargood/service
• must be publicly advertised• work allocated on ‘ranking’ basis and/or• all panel members invited to quote in
each instance
• e.g. trades / maintenance, plant hire,signage
